Novel 24-slots14-poles fractional-slot concentrated winding topology with low-space harmonics for electrical machine

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
This paper proposes a novel winding layout for the electric machines with fractional-slot concentrated windings (FSCW) using a stator shifting concept, with which all the non-working harmonics can be completely cancelled or significantly reduced and the ...

Orienting coupled quantum rotors by ultrashort laser pulses [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
We point out that the non-adiabatic orientation of quantum rotors, produced by ultrashort laser pulses, is remarkably enhanced by introducing dipolar interaction between the rotors.

Splitting of Waves in Rotor-in-Rotor Nonlocal Metamaterials by Internal Rotor Coupling

open access: yesSSRN Electronic Journal, 2022
Mechanical metamaterials can be used to control wave propagation because they are flexibly adjustable. In this paper, a one-dimensional rotor-in-rotor metamaterial with internal rotor coupling is proposed. This metamaterial introduces a new connection between lattices into a rotor-in-rotor system to produce a nonlocal metamaterial.

Dynamics and interactions of active rotors

open access: yes, 2010
We consider a simple model of an internally driven self-rotating object; a rotor, confined to two dimensions by a thin film of low Reynolds number fluid.

Performance and wake analysis of rotors in axial flight using computational fluid dynamics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Flow field around rotors in axial flight is known to be complex especially in steep descent where the rotor is operating inside its own wake. It is often reported that, in this flight condition, the rotor is susceptible to severe wake interactions ...

PWM-based Flux linkage estimation for permanent magnet synchronous machines

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
Monitoring of rotor temperature in permanent magnet synchronous machines (PMSM) is of great importance as high temperature could cause partial or even irreversible demagnetisation of the permanent magnets (PMs).

Comparative Evaluation of the Tribological Performance of Al-MMC and GCI Brake Rotors Through AK Master Dynamometer Testing

open access: yesLubricants
The increasing demand for lightweight and high-performance brake rotors has led to the exploration of aluminum–metal matrix composites (Al-MMCs) as alternatives to conventional cast iron rotors.

Manufacturing method and performance assessment for variable lead vacuum rotors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
In recent years variable lead rotors have been produced, mainly for vacuum applications, involving a multiple pass manufacturing process which is necessarily time-consuming.
