INVESTIGATION OF NOISE CHARACTERIZATION OF COATED ROTORS
In this study, four excessive worn brake rotors of a light commercial vehicle are coated using different thickness, methods and powder coatings. Coated rotors (R1, R2, R3 and R4) compared with OEM brake rotor (R0) in terms of friction coefficient (mu ...

Janus Photonic Graphics by Stratified Assembly of Two Distinct Colloids
Double‐sided Janus photonic micropatterns with vivid structural colors are fabricated through a single‐step bottom‐up strategy. Density‐driven stratification and depletion‐mediated crystallization of PMMA and PS binary colloids lead to exclusive lattices on opposite surfaces under centrifugal force.

Experimental comparison between a counter-rotating axial-flow fan and a conventional rotor-stator stage [PDF]
Based on the requirement of energy consumption level and weight and dimension restriction, compact axial machines are highly demanded in many industrial fields.

COFs on MOFs: Layer‐by‐Layer Synthesis of MOF@COF Nanoparticles with Synergistic Adsorption
A layer‐by‐layer strategy enables the growth of crystalline covalent organic framework (COF) shells on metal–organic framework nanoparticles, creating core–shell structures with tunable porosity. Ordered interstitial mesopores are formed during shell growth, which are connected with the COF's intrinsic micropores, thereby enhancing water sorption. This

Thermal Bending of the Rotor Due to Rotor‐to‐Stator Rub [PDF]
The rotor thermal bending due to the rotor‐to‐stator rubbing can lead to one of three types of observed rotor lateral motion: (1) spiral with increasing amplitude, (2) oscillating between rub]no‐rub conditions, and (3) asymptotical approach to the rotor limit cycle.

Effects of rotor–rotor interaction on the wake characteristics of twin rotors in axial descent
In this study, the effects of rotor–rotor interaction on wake characteristics were investigated experimentally for a twin-rotor configuration in axial descent. The wake velocities were measured at descent rates (descent speed/induced velocity at the rotor disk during hover) from 0.87 to 1.52, and the rotor–rotor interaction strength was controlled by ...

In Situ Amine Formation to Modulate MOF‐Derived PdIn N‐Doped Carbon Catalysts
An amine‐assisted approach converts PdIn‐MOF into PdIn intermetallic nanoparticles embedded in N‐doped carbon. In situ‐generated amines trigger early Pd nucleation, producing smaller PdIn domains than direct pyrolysis. Amine sterics and basicity tune composition and particle size, while solvent and amine co‐determine textural features.

Diagnosing Lee Wave Rotor Onset Using a Linear Model Including a Boundary Layer
A linear model is used to diagnose the onset of rotors in flow over 2D hills, for atmospheres that are neutrally stratified near the surface and stably stratified aloft, with a sharp temperature inversion in between, where trapped lee waves may propagate.
