Standardized Effect Measures Informing Next‐Generation Strategies for Mechanical Stimulation in Cartilage Tissue Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This systematic review quantitatively compares conventional mechanical stimulation strategies in cartilage tissue engineering across 85 heterogeneous in vitro studies. Applying standardized effect measures, meta‐analysis reveals that combined compression and shear loading optimally promotes cartilage matrix development.

Plasmonic Enhancement of Fluorescence and Protein Dynamics in Living Mammalian Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates plasmonic enhancement of the function of fluorescent voltage sensing proteins (genetically encoded voltage indicators, (GEVIs), QuasAr6) in live mammalian cells. Coupling to plasmonic nanoparticles does not just increase fluorescence, but influences the protein photocycle, creating a hybrid sensor with its response speed to ...

THE EVOLUTION OF THE OBLIGATION OF SEAWORTHINESS FROM THE HAGUE RULES TO THE ROTTERDAM RULES

open access: yesSelcuk Universitesi Hukuk Fakultesi Dergisi, 2021
Carrier’s duty to provide a seaworthy vessel has been one of the most fundamental principles in maritime law and hereby a core element of every contract of carriage of goods by sea throughout maritime history. Notwithstanding the duty was initially appraised to be absolute obligation under common law, it has been then boiled down to whether exercising ...

Unraveling the Molecular Mechanisms Underlying Spontaneous Multipolar Mitosis Through CIN‐seq

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Multipolar mitosis, a hallmark of chromosomal instability (CIN), drives tumor heterogeneity but is challenging to study in live cells. Using CIN‐seq, a single‐cell multiomics method, we profiled rare CIN events and identified mechanisms associated with viable multipolar mitosis, including PTEN attenuation, Rho GTPase‐driven cytokinesis failure, and ...

The Challenge of Handling Structured Missingness in Integrated Data Sources

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
As data integration becomes ever more prevalent, a new research question that emerges is how to handle missing values that will inevitably arise in these large‐scale integrated databases? This missingness can be described as structured missingness, encompassing scenarios involving multivariate missingness mechanisms and deterministic, nonrandom ...

Relapses, Comorbidities, and Predictors of Outcome in Anti‐GABAA Receptor Encephalitis

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, EarlyView.
Objectives To characterize the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) lesion dynamics, comorbidities, predictors of relapse, and outcomes in anti‐γ‐aminobutyric acid type A receptor (GABAAR) encephalitis, and assess the utility of LIM‐domain‐only‐protein 5 (LMO5) antibodies as tumor markers.

Las gramáticas como textos polémicos: la controversia entre gramáticos de la lengua española en Francia a mediados del siglo xvii

open access: yesCriticón, 2009
Common knowledge usually thinks that grammars are aseptic texts which simply describe the grammatical rules of a given language. Nevertheless, this is far from the truth: grammatical discourse has been filled over the time with outnumbered, traditional ...

Characterizing Heterogeneity in Post‐Consumer Rigid PP Packaging Waste: Implications for Object and Property‐Based Flake Sorting

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
Commercial PP packaging grades span wide ranges in melt flow rate and stiffness, defining distinct application‐specific property spaces. Post‐consumer rigid PP products populate these spaces heterogeneously, with processing method and degradation shifting properties beyond virgin grade benchmarks.
