Forces On A Rough Bed In Oscillatory Flow
Journal of Hydraulic Research, 1976Results are presented of numerical and analytical solutions for the drag and lift forces exerted in laminar flow on a two-dimensionally rough bed by wave action. As far as is known there are no other results, either experimental or theoretical, for the lift forces under these conditions and only two measurements, both at very high Reynolds numbers, of ...

Dependence of saltation parameters on bed roughness and bed porosity
2012In numerical models of bed load transport a bed structure of channel could be described by two parameters, a size of bed particles and a standard deviation of normal distribution of bed particles in the vertical direction. The present paper deals with the effect of bed parameters on average length and height of one jump of saltating particle.

Roughness of stable, armored gravel beds
Water Resources Research, 1993The grain roughness of stable armored beds that formed in a laboratory flume under a range of steady flow conditions on rounded, flat and angular gravel is analyzed. Gravel roughness geometry is determined from bed surface profiles and vertical photographs. These techniques have been employed in field situations.

Sediment transport in rough bed rivers
Sediment entrainment thresholds in rivers have been widely studied, informing the prediction of bedload transport rates that underpin morphodynamic modelling. However, quantification of sediment entrainment in complex channels with varying degrees of bedrock exposure and sediment cover remains limited. Here, physical modelling was conducted to simulateRobert Houseago +3 more
