On small time asymptotics for rough differential equations driven by fractional Brownian motions

open access: yes, 2014
We survey existing results concerning the study in small times of the density of the solution of a rough differential equation driven by fractional Brownian motions.

Flexoelectrically Induced Polar Topology in Twisted SrTiO3 Membranes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Twisted SrTiO3 bilayers host polar vortices of flexoelectric origin, revealed through combined experiment and theory. By reconstructing polarization from the toroidal moment of strain gradients, the work establishes a 3D chiral state with broken inversion and mirror symmetries.

Fuzzy kernel feature selection with multi-objective differential evolution algorithm

open access: yesConnection Science, 2019
In this paper, we propose a multi-objective differential evolution-based filter approach for feature selection that interconnects fuzzy- and kernel-based information theory measures to find feature subsets that are optimal responses to the targets.

Survey of Fungal Foliar and Panicle Diseases in Smallholder Sorghum Cropping Systems in Different Agro-Ecologies of Lower Eastern Kenya

open access: yesMicrobiology Research, 2022
Sorghum is a staple food crop and plays a critical role in subsistence farming in Kenya due to its adaptability to marginal agro-ecological zones. However, fungal diseases are among the major biotic constraints of sorghum production, causing over 70 ...

Machine Learning–Assisted Bio‐Interfacial Engineering Resolves Structural–Functional Conflicts in Nanocomposites

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A machine learning‐guided bio‐interfacial design strategy resolves the long‐standing strength–toughness–functionality trade‐off in nanocomposites. By efficiently mapping high‐performance regions in the composition–processing space, the approach delivers hierarchically entangled, nanosheet‐pinned architectures that combine mechanical robustness ...

Establishment of Non-Destructive Methods for the Detection of Amylose and Fat Content in Single Rice Kernels Using Near-Infrared Spectroscopy

open access: yesAgriculture, 2022
For the efficient selection of high-quality rice varieties, the near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) technique has been widely applied to detect constituents in single rice kernels. Compared with other constituents, amylose content (AC) and fat content (FC)

Unlocking the Full Potential of Zinc Oxide/Cerium Oxide Composite Nanoparticles for Removal of Mixed Pharmaceutical and Dye Pollutants in Water

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
ZnO/CeO2 composite nanoparticles synthesized via a facile hydrothermal method simultaneously degrade ciprofloxacin, tetracycline, methylene blue, and methyl orange in a four‐component mixture under UV irradiation. The Ce3+/Ce4+ redox cycling and oxygen vacancies at the ZnO/CeO2 interface suppress charge recombination and enhance reactive species ...
