L^P-ESTIMATES FOR THE ROUGH SINGULAR INTEGRALS ASSOCIATED TO SURFACES [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper we obtain the L^p-boundedness for the maximal functions and the singular integrals associated to surfaces (y, φ(|y|)) with rough kernels, 1 < p < ∞.

Rough kernel hedging

open access: yes
Building on the functional-analytic framework of operator-valued kernels and un-truncated signature kernels, we propose a scalable, provably convergent signature-based algorithm for a broad class of high-dimensional, path-dependent hedging problems. We make minimal assumptions about market dynamics by modelling them as general geometric rough paths ...

Ti6Al4V‐Bioglass‐Copper Composites for Load‐Bearing Implants

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We have designed and manufactured a novel Ti64‐based composite by adding 45S5 bioglass (BG) and copper (Cu). Adding BG on titanium improves wear resistance and biocompatibility, whereas Cu addition improves mechanical strength while providing inherent lifelong bacterial resistance.

Incorporating glass transition concepts to explain rice milling-quality reductions during the drying process [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Previous research has indicated that while drying rough rice using air temperatures above the glass transition temperature (Tg), head rice yield (HRY) reductions are incurred if a state transition occurs when severe intra-kernel moisture content (MC ...

Flexoelectrically Induced Polar Topology in Twisted SrTiO3 Membranes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Twisted SrTiO3 bilayers host polar vortices of flexoelectric origin, revealed through combined experiment and theory. By reconstructing polarization from the toroidal moment of strain gradients, the work establishes a 3D chiral state with broken inversion and mirror symmetries.

Influence of Thresher Cylinder Speed and Grain Moisture at Harvest on Milling Yield of Rice [PDF]

open access: yes, 1987
The percentage of broken rice (Oryza sativa) kernels was determined after threshing the grain at varying cylinder speeds of the thresher and moisture contents of the grain at harvest. Moisture contents of the individual grain samples ranged from 12 to 26%

Machine Learning–Assisted Bio‐Interfacial Engineering Resolves Structural–Functional Conflicts in Nanocomposites

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A machine learning‐guided bio‐interfacial design strategy resolves the long‐standing strength–toughness–functionality trade‐off in nanocomposites. By efficiently mapping high‐performance regions in the composition–processing space, the approach delivers hierarchically entangled, nanosheet‐pinned architectures that combine mechanical robustness ...
