Analysis of Cracked and Notched Round Bars Under Rotary Bending

Materials Performance and Characterization, 2015
Abstract The fatigue growth of surface flaws in both smooth and notched round bars subjected to rotary bending was numerically simulated by means of a two-parameter theoretical model proposed by the first author. The stress intensity factor distribution along the crack front was needed in order to apply the model.

Mass Estimation of Piled Round Bars through Vibration Tests

Wood and Fiber Science, 2021
A simple method was developed to estimate the mass of each piled round bar using a vibration test. Specimens used in the tests were Japanese cedar ( Cryptomeria ja ponica D.

Tensile deformation of a round bar

Journal of Engineering Mathematics, 1978
An approximate mathematical description of the tensile test is given for a material that is strain hardening and strain rate sensitive. Three phases of the deformation are distinguished: (I) nearly homogeneous deformation up to maximum load, (II) gradual localization of the deformation at nearly constant load, and (III) necking.

Roll Pass Design for Round Bars

CIRP Annals, 1990
In the paper a general computer approach strategy concerning the roll pass design for round bars is presented. It deals with roughing and finishing sequences optimizing the pass geometry. The results of the calculation, applied to steel bars, show a good agreement with the geometrical data found in the technical literature or pertaining to existing ...

Continuous round billet for bar production

Steel in Translation, 2014
Bar-production process systems are analyzed. The benefits of rolling bar from continuous-cast round and square billet are considered. The literature on bar production from continuous-cast round billet is reviewed.

Round Bar Heating With Swirl Burners

Journal of Engineering for Industry, 1988
A method of heating round steel bars using a swirl burner or swirl burner furnace combination is described. This technique is suitable for surface hardening or processing of long steel bars. The uniform heating around the steel bar, coupled with the high heat transfer rate of the swirling flow, allows a relatively small swirl burner to be used ...

Fracture of notched round-bar NiTi-specimens

Engineering Fracture Mechanics, 2012
Abstract In this work fractography has been used to characterize the fracture surfaces of superelastic, notched round-bar NiTi-specimens. Several fractography studies have been performed for conventional materials, but only few studies have been conducted on NiTi-alloys.

Rotor Design of Line-Start Synchronous Reluctance Machine With Round Bars

IEEE transactions on industry applications, 2019
Within the field of industry applications, the induction machine (IM) is the most used motor type, due to its robustness and line-start ability. However, the need to constrain global warming demands new sustainable technologies with high efficiency ...
