A parallel integration method for solar system dynamics [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
We describe how long-term solar system orbit integration could be implemented on a parallel computer. The interesting feature of our algorithm is that each processor is assigned not to a planet or a pair of planets but to a time-interval.

An Efficient Algorithm for the Reflexive Solution of the Quaternion Matrix Equation AXB+CXHD=F

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2013
We propose an iterative algorithm for solving the reflexive solution of the quaternion matrix equation AXB+CXHD=F. When the matrix equation is consistent over reflexive matrix X, a reflexive solution can be obtained within finite iteration steps in the ...

Optimal design of linear phase FIR digital filters with very flat passbands and equiripple stopbands [PDF]

open access: yes, 1985
A new technique is presented for the design of digital FIR filters, with a prescribed degree of flatness in the passband, and a prescribed (equiripple) attenuation in the stopband.

An Iterative Method for the Least-Squares Problems of a General Matrix Equation Subjects to Submatrix Constraints

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2013
An iterative algorithm is proposed for solving the least-squares problem of a general matrix equation ∑i=1t‍MiZiNi=F, where Zi (i=1,2,…,t) are to be determined centro-symmetric matrices with given central principal submatrices.

Varying the Explanatory Span: Scientific Explanation for Computer Simulations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
This article aims to develop a new account of scientific explanation for computer simulations. To this end, two questions are answered: what is the explanatory relation for computer simulations? And what kind of epistemic gain should be expected?

Certified Roundoff Error Bounds using Bernstein Expansions and Sparse Krivine-Stengle Representations

open access: yes, 2017
Floating point error is an inevitable drawback of embedded systems implementation. Computing rigorous upper bounds of roundoff errors is absolutely necessary to the validation of critical software.

Stochastic Estimation of MIMO Detection Error Caused by Low-Bitwidth QR Decomposition

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of the Communications Society
In this paper, we propose a new approach to justify a roundoff error impact on the accuracy of the linear least squares (LS) solution using QR decomposition.

Iterative Solution to a System of Matrix Equations

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2013
An efficient iterative algorithm is presented to solve a system of linear matrix equations , with real matrices and . By this iterative algorithm, the solvability of the system can be determined automatically.
