Drug Intelligence & Clinical Pharmacy, 1985The benefits and risks of both the vaccine for pertussis and the disease itself are reviewed in this article. Unlike with the smallpox vaccine, it seems unlikely that a vaccine will be developed to eradicate pertussis completely, since most confer only a short-term immunity.
