Genetic Algorithm for Routing and Spectrum Allocation in Elastic Optical Networks
2016 Third European Network Intelligence Conference (ENIC), 2016Elastic Optical Network (EON) architecture has been proposed as a promising technology for a new generation of OFDM networks. It is based on the concept that spectrum can be split into smaller slices than are used currently in the fixed-grid network. It allows better spectral utilization and support for bit rates over 100 Gb/s.

YBS heuristic for routing and spectrum allocation in flexible optical networks
2017 IEEE 18th International Conference on High Performance Switching and Routing (HPSR), 2017Spectrum-sliced elastic optical path networks (SLICE) enable flexible bandwidth provisioning, which allows efficient resource utilization and support to heterogeneous bandwidth demands. This makes SLICE a very promising networking architecture. In SLICE, finding a route and a slice of the spectrum is an important design problem, which is known as the ...

Routing, Modulation and Spectrum Allocation in Elastic Optical Networks
2018 26th Telecommunications Forum (TELFOR), 2018Elastic optical networks are seen as an efficient solution for future optical networks. In these networks, the routing, modulation and spectrum allocation problem consists of finding an optimal network utilization by jointly addressing all three aspects.

2015 IEEE International Symposium on Signal Processing and Information Technology (ISSPIT), 2015
The recently proposed spectrum sliced elastic optical path network (SLICE) is expected to substantially increase network resource utilization efficiency. In order to meet this high expectation it is necessary to provide an efficient solution to the NP-complete routing, modulation and spectrum assignment (RMSA) problem.

Routing and spectrum allocation in flexi-grid optical networks
The 2012 11th International Conference on Optical Communications and Networks (ICOCN), 2012We compare three lightpath routing and spectrum allocation algorithms for the flexi-grid optical transport networks. The three algorithms include shortest path first algorithm, grid-plane-based first-fit algorithm, and grid-plane-based exhaustive algorithm. We evaluate the performance of these algorithms through simulations.
