FNAL E771 RPC muon trigger

Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section A: Accelerators, Spectrometers, Detectors and Associated Equipment, 1995
Abstract A fast first level muon trigger, developed for and used in experiment E771 at Fermilab, for selecting events containing high energy muons, is described. The trigger finds events by matching the hits information received from three planes of Resistive Plate Counters (RPC).

Future RPC developments

Journal of Instrumentation, 2021
Abstract The Resistive Plate Chamber detectors (RPC) proposed in the '80s had time resolution of the order of ns, the spatial resolution of the order of cm and counting capability of tens of Hz/cm2. These detectors underwent since then a great improvement in their performances.

Study of RPC gas composition using Daya Bay RPCs

Chinese Physics C, 2010
This study uses Daya Bay RPCs operating in streamer mode to investigate gas mixtures of at least 50% argon, at most 6% isobutane, and with small amounts of SF6. Isobutane is reduced to 2% without degradation of performance, and SF6 reduces the noise rate and current, as well as the signal size.

RPC: The Rosetta Plasma Consortium

Space Science Reviews, 2007
The Rosetta Plasma Consortium (RPC) will make in-situ measurements of the plasma environment of comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko. The consortium will provide the complementary data sets necessary for an understanding of the plasma processes in the inner coma, and the structure and evolution of the coma with the increasing cometary activity. Five sensors

Aging measurements on glass RPCs

IEEE Transactions on Nuclear Science, 2003
Resistive plate chambers (RPC) are widely used as active elements in particle physics detectors. A deterioration of RPC performance with time has been observed in several experiments, after operation at high temperature or with water contamination in the gas mixture, both for detectors with bakelite electrodes and for the ones with float-glass ...

Modeling RPC performance

ACM SIGMETRICS Performance Evaluation Review, 1994
Distributed computing applications are collections of processes allocated across a network that cooperate to accomplish common goals. The applications require the support of a distributed computing runtime environment that provides services to help manage process concurrency and interprocess communication.

RF-RPC: Remote Fetching RPC Paradigm for RDMA-Enabled Network

IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems, 2019
Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA) devices are widely deployed in modern data centers. However, existing RDMA usages lead to a dilemma between performance and redesign cost. Server-reply mode directly replaces socket-based send/receive primitives with corresponding RDMA counterparts. It can not fully harness the power of RDMA devices.

Comparison of DCE RPC, DFN-RPC, ONC and PVM

1993
Taking part in the Early Participation Program of OSF/DCE on IBM RS/6000 workstations, we have examined the RPC of DCE between workstation and compute server under aspects of performance, capability and functionality for scientific-technical applications programmed in Fortran, under user-account.

ИНТЕГРАЦИЯ МИКРОСЕРВИСОВ НА ОСНОВЕ RPC

2021
The article is devoted to the analysis of the issue of joint integration of microservices using RPC (Remote Procedure Call) technology. There are a lot of technologies for determining the way to communicate microservices, so here were presented two properties that the chosen technology should possess.
