A statistical parallax algorithm (Clube and Dave, 1978a,b), using the technique of maximum likelihood, has been applied to a set of 103 ‘ab’ - RR Lyrae stars in the solar neighborhood (r 2<kpc), using observational data from the Royal Greenwich Observatory Bulletins. A second set of 130 ‘ab’ - RR Lyrae stars has been kindly supplied to us by Dr.

Flavours of variability: 29 RR Lyrae stars observed with Kepler [PDF]

We present our analysis of Kepler observations of 29 RR Lyrae stars, based on 138-d of observation. We report precise pulsation periods for all stars. Nine of these stars had incorrect or unknown periods in the literature. Fourteen of the stars exhibit both amplitude and phase Blazhko modulations, with Blazhko periods ranging from 27.7 to more than 200

Light and Color Curves of Six Field RR Lyrae Variable Stars [PDF]

We present light curves in the B, V, and I passbands for six field RR Lyrae stars. We derive the stars' intensity‐mean magnitudes, light amplitudes, and colors at minimum light. We compare the latter with measurements from other variables and discuss the use of (V−I) color at minimum light as a tool for measuring interstellar reddening.

AbstractWe present the results of a photometric study of RR Lyrae variables in the field of the globular cluster M55. We have discovered nine new RR Lyrae stars, increasing the number of known variables in this cluster to 15 objects. Five of the newly discovered variables belong to Bailey type RRc and two to type RRab.
