AS/RS And Warehouse Modeling [PDF]

open access: yes1989 Winter Simulation Conference Proceedings, 1989
The computer simulation of Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (AS/RS) and warehousing systems often present the modeler with numerous issues dealing with modeling strategies. The modeler must decide the level of detail needed to represent the various components of the system in order to obtain results which can be used in the evaluation process ...

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

The investigation of the relationships between retained placenta and animal's age, calving season, and type, number of parturition (or parity), and sex of calving in the cows [PDF]

open access: yesEurasian Journal of Veterinary Sciences
A total of 140 cows in various breed, aged 3-12 years old, admitted to the Firat University Veterinary Faculty Clinics with retained placenta between 1996-1999 were were used as material for this study.

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Estimation of Soil Erosion and Sediment Yield Based on Satellite Imagery Using the GIS Technique and Employing Erosion Potential Method (EPM) on Watersheds (Case study: the Dez Watershed) [PDF]

open access: yesمهندسی منابع آب, 2017
Worldwide, soil erosion by water is one of the most important factors in land degradation, and is a critical environmental hazard of modern times. The present study aims to estimate the average annual specific production of sediments and the intensity ...

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Traces of hunters on Eastern Arctic islands in ancient times. Part 1

open access: yesTheriologia Ukrainica
Based on RS and GIS data, the knowledge about localities (2nd cent. CE–early 20th cent. CE) connected with pioneer sea hunters of the Kolyuchin, Wrangel, and Herald islands (KI, WI, and HI) has been revised, including the data obtained by the author in ...

Circulating tumor cell viability during and after radiotherapy mirrors treatment response in cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. Created in BioRender. Wikman, H.
