Distance estimation using RSSI and particle filter

ISA Transactions, 2015
This paper presents a particle filter algorithm for distance estimation using multiple antennas on the receiver's side and only one transmitter, where a received signal strength indicator (RSSI) of radio frequency was used. Two different placements of antennas were considered (parallel and circular).

NQRELoc: AP Selection via Nonuniform Quantization RSSI Entropy for Indoor Localization

IEEE Sensors Journal, 2022
Received signal strength indicator (RSSI) of WiFi access point (AP) is a primary sensor data used for indoor fingerprint localization. User sends its online RSSI to server to estimate its position by matching with RSSI fingerprints database which built ...

Hybrid Indoor Positioning System for Pedestrians With Swinging Arms Based on Smartphone IMU and RSSI of BLE

IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 2021
Over the last decades, researchers have invented many positioning algorithms for pedestrians in the indoor environment, such as trilateration, fingerprint, and pedestrian dead reckoning (PDR) system.

Deep Generative Model-based RSSI Synthesis for Indoor Localization

International Conference on Electrical Engineering/Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology, 2022
Indoor localization via deep learning (DL) is attracting researchers' attention. DL is mainly used for fingerprinting-based indoor localization as it generally employs a vast offline database to ensure its reliability.

RSSI-Based Bluetooth Indoor Localization

2015 11th International Conference on Mobile Ad-hoc and Sensor Networks (MSN), 2015
The Global Positioning System (GPS) has been widely used to determine the location for a variety of different applications. However, it doesn't work well in indoor environments because it requires the line of sight to the satellites and therefore stops working when the line of sight is not available.

Using RSSI Data for LoRa Network Path Loss Modeling

IEEE International Conference on Electronics and Nanotechnology, 2022
RSSI is typically used for the input power estimation in wireless sensor networks. It is necessary to consider the nonlinearity of the receiver amplitude response, which depends on the RSSI circuitry, and the effects of multipath propagation, which are ...

Predicting Car Collisions Using RSSI

2015 IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM), 2014
The periodic broadcast of a safety message (SM) containing vehicle position and motion data is the salient mechanism for providing drivers pre-crash alerts in Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) networks. However, if SMs are compromised or contain erroneous information, drivers may be unaware of impending danger.

Localization Algorithm Using Improved RSSI

Journal of Information and Computational Science, 2013
The RSSI measuring localization method has attracted extensive attention due to its convenient acquisition of signals, low cost and small energy consumption. However, the actual environment of sensor node deployment is varied, which makes the localization results based on RSSI measuring usually unstable.
