RST Parsing from Scratch [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 2021 Conference of the North American Chapter of the Association for Computational Linguistics: Human Language Technologies, 2021
We introduce a novel top-down end-to-end formulation of document-level discourse parsing in the Rhetorical Structure Theory (RST) framework. In this formulation, we consider discourse parsing as a sequence of splitting decisions at token boundaries and use a seq2seq network to model the splitting decisions.

A Deep-Learning Approach to Detect Fiducials in Planar X-Ray Images for Undistortion of Conventional C-Arm Images

open access: yesCurrent Directions in Biomedical Engineering, 2020
In some applications such as 2D-3D registration, undistorted images are required to achieve optimal results. These types of images can be obtained from a distortion-free C-arm (flat-panel detector) or by undistorting the images given from a conventional ...

2D quantum dilaton gravitational Hamiltonian, boundary terms and new definition for total energy [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
The ADM and Bondi mass for the RST model have been first discussed from Hawking and Horowitz's argument. Expressing the localized RST action in terms of the ADM formulation, the RST Hamiltonian can be derived, meanwhile keeping track of all boundary ...
