On Explainability of Cluster Prototypes with Rough Sets: A Case Study in the FMCG Market

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science
Despite the growing popularity of machine learning (ML), such solutions are often incomprehensible to employees and difficult to control. Addressing this issue, we discuss some essential problems of explainable ML applications in the fast-moving consumer

Mixed Ion‐Electron Thermoelectric Generators With Ionogels Blended With MXene Continuously Harvesting Heat Under Both Steady and Fluctuated Temperature Gradients

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
A mixed ion‐electron thermoelectric generator (MTEG) based on MXene ionogels converts both steady and fluctuating temperature gradients into continuous electricity. The hybrid conduction arises from electron tunneling through MXene networks and ionic diffusion driven by the Soret effect, enabling stable voltage output and high thermopower for efficient

RST-Tace A tool for automatic comparison and evaluation of RST trees

open access: yesProceedings of the Workshop on Discourse Relation Parsing and Treebanking 2019, 2019
This paper presents RST-Tace, a tool for automatic comparison and evaluation of RST trees. RST-Tace serves as an implementation of Iruskieta’s comparison method, which allows trees to be compared and evaluated without the influence of decisions at lower ...

Performance assessment of a potential underground thermal storage facility: Case study of the closed mine Prosper‐Haniel in the Ruhr coal mining area in Germany

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates the feasibility of an underground closed‐loop thermal storage facility at a post‐mining site, intended for seasonal heat energy storage. Its principal design shows water flow directions in winter and summer (1, 2), heat pumps (3), an upper water reservoir (4), and connecting pipes (5).

Reward Processing in Binge Eating and Harmful Drinking: A Systematic Review

open access: yesInternational Journal of Eating Disorders, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Binge eating and harmful drinking commonly co‐occur, which worsens the physical and psychological consequences associated with either behavior alone. Reward processing alterations have been demonstrated among individuals who engage in binge eating or harmful drinking alone; however, there is limited understanding of how different ...
