RTD-based compact programmable gates

This work presents novel and extremely compact implementations of programmable gates on the basis of the multi-threshold threshold gate concept. The circuit consists of resonant tunnelling diodes (RTDs) and heterostructure field effect transistors (HFETs) and its operating principle is based on the controlled quenching of clocked series-connected RTDs.

RTD characteristics for micro-thermal sensors

The physical and electrical characteristics of MgO (medium layer) and Pt (sensor material) thin films deposited by a reactive RF sputtering method and a magnetron sputtering method, respectively, were analyzed as a function of the annealing temperature and time by using a four-point probe, SEM, and XRD.

Analysis of frequency divider RTD circuits

The behavior of a novel circuit topology able to implement a frequency divider is studied. This circuit is composed of a resonant tunnelling diode (RTD), an inductor, and a capacitor, so it exhibits a very high operating frequency and low power consumption.

Circuits and devices with integrated VFETs and RTDs

We have realised a new technology for the integration of VFETs and RTDs. For these tunnelling transistors (so called resonant tunnelling permeable base transistors) we have developed large signal models which have been implemented in a Cadence simulation environment. The DC I-V characteristics are reproduced to a very high degree in these models.

HYPERCHAOS IN RTD-BASED CELLULAR NEURAL NETWORKS

In this paper, a hyperchaotic RTD-based cellular neural network is proposed and its hyperchaotic dynamics is demonstrated. The Lyapunov exponents spectrum is presented, and some typical Lyapunov exponents are calculated in a range of parameters. Several important phase portraits are presented as well.

Current-feedback linearization technique for RTDs

A very simple yet accurate linearization technique for RTDs is described. Correction of the intrinsic parabolic curvature of this type of temperature transducer is performed by changing the amplitude of the excitation current as the temperature varies.
