Unveiling Phonon Contributions to Thermal Conductivity and the Applicability of the Wiedemann—Franz Law in Ruthenium and Tungsten Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Thermal transport in Ru and W thin films is studied using steady‐state thermoreflectance, ultrafast pump–probe spectroscopy, infrared‐visible spectroscopy, and computations. Significant Lorenz number deviations reveal strong phonon contributions, reaching 45% in Ru and 62% in W.

Ultrasound‐Triggered Gelation for Restoring Biomechanical Properties of Degenerated Functional Spinal Units

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces an innovative approach to treating intervertebral disc degeneration using ultrasound‐triggered in situ hydrogel formation. Proof‐of‐concept experiments using optimized biomaterial and ultrasound parameters demonstrate partial restoration of biomechanical function and successful integration into degenerated disc tissue, offering a ...

A gated strategy stabilizes room‐temperature phosphorescence

open access: yesAggregate, 2023
Room‐temperature phosphorescence (RTP) of purely organic materials is easily quenched with unexpected purposes because the excited triplet state is extremely susceptible to external stimuli.

Application-driven network management with ProtoRINA [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Traditional network management is tied to the TCP/IP architecture, thus it inherits its many limitations, e.g., static management and one-size-fits-all structure.

Cyclic Peptide–Polymer Conjugate Nanotubes for Delivery of SN‐38 in Treatment of Colorectal Cancer Model

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study develops cyclic peptidepolymer conjugate nanotubes with hydrophobic, drug‐rich cores to enhance drug loading and stability, and demonstrates their responsive disassembly, pharmacokinetics, and anti‐tumour efficacy in colorectal cancer models using the anticancer drug SN‐38.

Isolation of rafts from mouse brain tissue by a detergent-free method*

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2009
Membrane rafts are rich in cholesterol and sphingolipids and have specific proteins associated with them. Due to their small size, their identification and isolation have proved to be problematic. Their insolubility in nonionic detergents, such as Triton-

Rapid thermal processing of CuAISe2 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
CuAl thin film metallic precursors were selenised using a tube furnace or a rapid thermal processor (RTP). A comparison is made between the two processes for slightly Cu rich films and best crystallographic and elemental properties are obtained for films

KISS: Stochastic Packet Inspection Classifier for UDP Traffic [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
This paper proposes KISS, a novel Internet classifica- tion engine. Motivated by the expected raise of UDP traffic, which stems from the momentum of Peer-to-Peer (P2P) streaming appli- cations, we propose a novel classification framework that leverages ...

NH3‐Guided Low‐Temperature Nanostructural Refinement Boosts Visible‐Light‐Driven H2O2 Synthesis in Ionic Carbon Nitrides

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A nanostructural refinement strategy is reported for KPHI photocatalysts using NH4Cl in a molten salt environment to induce coherent domain fragmentation and controlled cyano defect formation. This dual modification promotes n→π* transitions, enhances charge separation, and accelerates ORR kinetics, yielding exceptional AQY values of 49% (410 nm) and 5%
