Adaptive Control of Run‐and‐Tumble Escape in Pursuit‐Evasion Dynamics of Intelligent Active Particles

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
The pursuit‐evasion game is studied for two adversarial active agents, modeled as deterministic self‐steering pursuer and stochastic, cognitive evader. For a successful evasion strategy, the motile target has to exploit all available pursuer information, e.g., by tuning the tumbling frequency with the pursuer distance.

Metabolomic profiling reveals systemic metabolic disruptions induced by combined exposure to particulate matter and ozone

open access: yesCurrent Research in Toxicology
Air pollution exposure, especially particulate matter (PM) and ozone (O3), poses significant health risks, but the systemic metabolic consequences of combined exposures to PM and O3, remain poorly understood.

How Do I Answer This? A Queer Critique of Australian Census Forms and the Reification of Cisheteronormative Families

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Social Issues, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper presents a critical examination of Australia's 2021 household, individual and interviewer census forms. Using a form‐led analysis, this research scrutinises the underlying cisheteronormative logic that implicitly shapes the Census process, from data collection to distribution of findings.

A model of toxic neuropathy in Drosophila reveals a role for MORN4 in promoting axonal degeneration [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Axonal degeneration is a molecular self-destruction cascade initiated following traumatic, toxic, and metabolic insults. Its mechanism underlies a number of disorders including hereditary and diabetic neuropathies and the neurotoxic side effects of ...

Miniaturized Conductometric Biosensor for Rapid Detection of TNF‐α in Saliva

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
A miniaturized conductometric sensor detects TNF‐α at femtomolar levels with high selectivity. The device enables noninvasive testing using pooled human saliva and supports smartphone‐based, real‐time resistance readings. This portable biosensor offers a practical alternative for monitoring TNF‐α, providing new opportunities for diabetes and related ...

Congestion Control using FEC for Conversational Multimedia Communication

open access: yes, 2013
In this paper, we propose a new rate control algorithm for conversational multimedia flows. In our approach, along with Real-time Transport Protocol (RTP) media packets, we propose sending redundant packets to probe for available bandwidth.

Evaluation of the diphenyl herbicide, oxyfluorfen, for effects on thyroid hormones in the juvenile rat

open access: yesCurrent Research in Toxicology
Recently, oxyfluorfen, a pre- and post-emergent diphenyl ether herbicide, was identified in our laboratory as an inhibitor of iodide uptake by the sodium iodide symporter (NIS), the first key step in the synthesis of thyroid hormones (THs).

A gated strategy stabilizes room‐temperature phosphorescence

open access: yesAggregate, 2023
Room‐temperature phosphorescence (RTP) of purely organic materials is easily quenched with unexpected purposes because the excited triplet state is extremely susceptible to external stimuli.
