Community-Based Reasoning in Games: Salience, Rule-Following, and Counterfactuals
This paper develops a game-theoretic and epistemic account of a peculiar mode of practical reasoning that sustains focal points but also more general forms of rule-following behavior which I call community-based reasoning (CBR).

In recent years, there has been an increasing interest in extending stream processing engines with rule-based temporal reasoning capabilities. To ensure correctness, such systems must be able to output results over the partial data received so far as if the entire (infinite) stream had been available; furthermore, these results must be streamed out as ...

Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Building an enhanced case-based reasoning and rule-based systems for medical diagnosis
Expert systems are computer programs that use knowledge and reasoning to solve problems typically solved by human experts. Expert systems have been used in medicine to diagnose diseases, recommend treatments, and plan surgeries.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

A Knowledge Reuse–Based Approach for Rapid Design of an Active Phased Array Antenna
Active phased array antenna is a typical multidisciplinary, intensive knowledge-based equipment, and the traditional “design–analysis–improvement–redesign” method has problems including low utilization of mature design resources and long design cycles ...
