Evaluation of printing feasibility and surface quality in curved layer fused deposition modeling of complex geometriesMendeley Data

open access: yesResults in Engineering
Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) is acknowledged for its ability to rapidly produce physical prototypes from virtual prototypes. While being advantageous, the FDM technique has notable limitations in precisely achieving complex curved geometries with an ...

Low Cycle Repetitive Loading of Ti‐6Al‐4V‐Epoxy Composite Lattice Structures for Enhanced Energy Dissipation and Damage Tolerance

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Composite Ti–6Al–4V–epoxy lattice structures are additively manufactured and epoxy infiltrated for cyclic loading. At low lattice volume fractions, hybridization produces synergistic gains in stiffness and energy dissipation. At higher volume fractions, synergy diminishes, although composites still exceed metallic lattices in specific energy ...

Some Characterizations of Generalized Null Scrolls

open access: yesMathematics, 2019
In this work, a family of ruled surfaces named generalized null scrolls in Minkowski 3-space are investigated via the defined structure functions. The relations between the base curve and the ruling flow of the generalized null scroll are revealed.

A Dislocation Perspective on Strength and Toughness in Ceramics

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Dislocations in ceramics enjoy a long but yet under‐appreciated history. The three research waves for dislocations in ceramics highlight the topic evolution over the last 90 years. This review focuses on the impact of dislocation on strength and toughness in ceramics.

Compatibility of Methacrylate Based Resins Controls Interfacial Failure and Toughness in 3D‐Printed Multimaterial Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work shows that the mechanical performance of multimaterial digital light processing (DLP) printed thermoset composites is governed by resin compatibility and interfacial design rather than spatial patterning alone. Brittle and ductile resin combinations produced premature interfacial failure, while graded interfaces and mechanically compatible ...

On the curvatures of the ruled surfaces of b-lift curves

open access: yesCumhuriyet Science Journal, 2021
In this study, we defined a new curve which is called the B-Lift curve, also obtained the Frenet vectors of the B-Lift curve. The ruled surfaces have been produced by taking base curves B-Lift curves.

Machine Learning‐Supported Analysis for Predicting and Visualizing Nonlinear Relationships Between Material Properties in Electroplated Chromium Layers

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study applies machine learning regression to predict chromium layer thickness in decorative trivalent chromium electroplating, using 441 experiments from laboratory‐scale (1L) and pilot‐scale (14L) setups. Tree‐based models, particularly CatBoost, outperformed linear regression by capturing nonlinear parameter interactions (R2$R^2$ up to 0.77 ...

Singularity and topology of ruled surface in \'R POT.3\'

open access: yes, 2007
Neste trabalho estudamos a topologia local, trivialidade topolóogica e as singularidades de superfícies regradas em \'R POT.3\'. O objetivo do trabalho é comparar as singularidades que ocorrem no conjunto das superfícies regradas com as singularidades de

Comparison of Triply Periodic Minimal Surface Energy Absorbers Under Uniaxial Compressive Loading

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates LCD 3D printed Triply Periodic Minimal Surface (TPMS) structures as mechanical energy absorbers. By comparing various base designs and layered combinations under uniaxial compression, it identifies that a Diamond‐Gyroid sandwich structure offers superior performance.
