On rectifying ruled surfaces

open access: yesKuwait Journal of Science, 2020
In this study, we define general rectifying ruled surfaces in the Euclidean 3-space E^3. We give some characterizations of rectifying ruled surfaces by considering the curvatures of base curve.

Influence of the geometrical researches of ruled surfaces on design of unique structures

open access: yesStructural Mechanics of Engineering Constructions and Buildings, 2019
Aims of research. Due to the growing interest in the design, calculation and application of architectural structures and structures in the form of a variety of smooth and composite surfaces, it is interesting to illustrate the use of analytical surfaces,

Mapping the evolution of mitochondrial complex I through structural variation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Respiratory complex I (CI) is crucial for bioenergetic metabolism in many prokaryotes and eukaryotes. It is composed of a conserved set of core subunits and additional accessory subunits that vary depending on the organism. Here, we categorize CI subunits from available structures to map the evolution of CI across eukaryotes. Respiratory complex I (CI)

Computerized Generation and Surface Deviation Correction of Ruled Surface for Face Gear Drives

open access: yesApplied Sciences
In order to solve the problems of low efficiency and complex cutting tools in conventional face gear machining, this paper presents a machining method of ruled surface face gears with conical cutters and proposes a new pinion to correct deviation and its

Enteropathogenic E. coli shows delayed attachment and host response in human jejunum organoid‐derived monolayers compared to HeLa cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

Smarandache-Based Ruled Surfaces with the Darboux Vector According to Frenet Frame in $E^3$

open access: yesJournal of New Theory, 2022
The paper introduces a new kind of special ruled surface. The base of each ruled surface is taken to be one of the Smarandache curves of a given curve according to Frenet frame, and the generator (ruling) is chosen to be the corresponding unit Darboux ...

Conserved structural motifs in PAS, LOV, and CRY proteins regulate circadian rhythms and are therapeutic targets

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cryptochrome and PAS/LOV proteins play intricate roles in circadian clocks where they act as both sensors and mediators of protein–protein interactions. Their ubiquitous presence in signaling networks has positioned them as targets for small‐molecule therapeutics. This review provides a structural introduction to these protein families.

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.
