Effects of rumen-degradable-protein to rumen-undegradable-protein ratio on nitrogen conversion of lactating dairy cows

Acta Agriculturae Scandinavica - Section A: Animal Science, 2008
Abstract Fifteen multiparous dairy cows were used in a five replicated 3×3 Latin square design to study the effects of ratio of rumendegradable-protein (RDP) and rumen-undegradable-protein (RUP) on nitrogen (N) conversion in Chinese Holstein dairy cows. Three diets were formulated isonitrogenously with varying ratio of RDP/RUP.

In vitro evaluation of protein degradability in the rumen and digestibility of undegraded protein.

Acta veterinaria Hungarica, 1990
A three-phase laboratory procedure suitable for predicting protein degradability in the rumen and digestibility of undegraded protein is reported. In the first phase the feed was incubated with starch and buffered rumen fluid. In the incubation mixture the viability of protease-active bacteria was checked by anaerobic culturing, whereas changes in ...

Effects of calcium soaps and rumen undegradable protein on the milk production and composition of dairy ewes

Journal of Dairy Research, 1999
Forty-eight Manchega dairy ewes were used during a complete lactation in a 2×2 factorial design to determine the effects of supplementing diets with fat (calcium soaps of palm oil fatty acids, CSFA) and rumen undegradable protein (RUP) on milk production and composition.

Effects of roughage to concentrate ratios and rumen undegradable protein supplementation on growth of lambs

Small Ruminant Research, 1990
Abstract Twenty four individually penned lambs (mean weight 24 kg) were offered one of four diets, to investigate the response to a supplement of dietary rumen undegradable nitrogen (UDN) (5.5 and 8.5 g/kg DM) given with roughage: concentrate ratios of 70:30 or 30:70.

The effect of rumen degradable and rumen undegradable intake protein on feedlot performance and carcass merit in heavy yearling steers.

Journal of animal science, 2010
A total of 432 crossbred yearling steers (395 kg +/- 6.35) were used in a randomized block experiment to study the effects of rumen degradable intake protein (DIP) and rumen undegradable intake protein (UIP) concentration on feedlot performance and carcass merit. The 6 dietary treatments used for this study included 1) a 10.5% CP diet with 5.1% UIP and
