Meta-analysis of 0 to 8 h post-prandial evolution of ruminal pH
The objective of this study was to identify relevant descriptors of ruminal pH post-prandial evolution that can replace the mean pH (considered unsatisfactory).

Random changes in the heifer rumen in bacterial community structure,physico-chemical and fermentation parameters, and in vitro fiber degradation [PDF]
The variability over time of several main ruminal characteristics was studied in heifers over 15 consecutive weeks. Three heifers were assigned to a low-fiber diet (27% NDF) and three to a high-fiber diet (44% NDF).

Prediction of Ruminal pH from Pasture-Based Diets
This study identified suitable predictors of ruminal pH and identified relationships between ruminal pH and animal measures for diets based on fresh pasture. Animal and dietary variables (121 treatment means from six countries) were collated from 23 studies of lactating dairy cows fed pasture. Mean daily ruminal pH ranged from 5.6 to 6.7 across studies.

Sodium bicarbonate as prevention of metabolic acidosis in sheep submitted to experimental ruminal acidosis [PDF]
The aim of this study was to evaluate the preventive effect of sodium bicarbonate on systemic acidosis due to ruminal acidosis, which was induced by ingestion of concentrate after prolonged fasting.

Rumen Mycobiome Thiamine Metabolism Contributes to Subacute Rumen Acidosis Tolerance in Goats Through Enhancing Epithelial Cell Proliferation via IGFBP2/IGF1 Axis Activation. [PDF]
Schematic illustration of the mechanism underlying the differences between SARA‐susceptible and SARA‐tolerant dairy goats fed a high‐concentrate diet. SARA‐susceptible goats (HCS) exhibit low rumen pH and metabolic decline, characterized by epithelial inflammation.

Effects of pH and Concentrations of Linoleic and Linolenic Acids on Extent and Intermediates of Ruminal Biohydrogenation in Vitro [PDF]
Three experiments were conducted by in vitro incubations in ruminal fluid to investigate the effects of pH and amounts of linoleic and linolenic acids on the extent of their biohydrogenation, the proportions of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) and trans ...
