Development of the Caecal Microbiota in Three Broiler Breeds

open access: yesFrontiers in Veterinary Science, 2019
The development of the caecal microbiota plays a role in the metabolism and immune competence of chickens. A detailed understanding of normal succession in the caecal microbiota can inform the use of probiotics and other interventions to optimize the ...

Milk Fat Globule Membrane Supplementation Attenuates Cognitive Impairment in APP/PS1 Mice via Suppressing Neuroinflammation in a Gut Microbiota‐Mediated Serum Resolvin D1/Anandamide Manner

open access: yesFood Frontiers, Volume 7, Issue 2, March 2026.
MFGM modulated gut microbiota accompanied by the increased serum RVD1 and AEA levels, which subsequently regulated the miRNA profile. This modulation alleviated neuroinflammation via suppressing the NLRP3 inflammasome signaling and microglial activation, thereby attenuating AD‐related cognitive impairment both in vivo and in vitro.

Examination of sex-specific interactions between gut microbiota and host metabolism after 12-week combined polyphenol supplementation in individuals with overweight or obesity

open access: yesGut Microbes
Polyphenols exert beneficial effects on host metabolism, which may be mediated by the gut microbiota. We investigated sex-specific differences in microbiota composition and interactions with cardiometabolic parameters after polyphenol supplementation in ...

Systematic Analysis of Impact of Sampling Regions and Storage Methods on Fecal Gut Microbiome and Metabolome Profiles. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
The contribution of human gastrointestinal (GI) microbiota and metabolites to host health has recently become much clearer. However, many confounding factors can influence the accuracy of gut microbiome and metabolome studies, resulting in ...

Crosstalk Between Intratumoral Microbes and Tumor Immunity: Implications for Tumor Therapy

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Emerging studies indicate that microbes are present in tumor cells and immune cells. Intratumoral microbiota (ITM) constitute an important component of the tumor immune microenvironment (TIME) and have an important impact on tumor progression and treatment. Objective Through the general elaboration of ITM represented by bacteria and

The Effects of Soy Protein–Rich Meals on Muscle Health of Older Adults Are Linked to Gut Microbiome Modifications

open access: yesJournal of Cachexia, Sarcopenia and Muscle, Volume 17, Issue 1, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Sarcopenia is characterized by accelerated muscle mass and function loss in older adults. The role of nutritional interventions in sarcopenia is uncertain. This study investigates whether a soy protein–rich diet can enhance muscle health in older adults via gut microbiota changes.

Tumor Immunotherapy and Microbiome: From Bench‐to‐Bedside Applications

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 2, February 2026.
The microbiome is related to the efficacy of immunotherapy and can be utilized to predict the efficacy and adverse reactions of immunotherapy. Microbiome‐targeted intervention strategies can improve the efficacy of ICI, but necessitating more comprehensive exploration.

The Relationship between Uterine, Fecal, Bedding, and Airborne Dust Microbiota from Dairy Cows and Their Environment: A Pilot Study

open access: yesAnimals, 2019
The aim of this study was to characterize uterine, fecal, bedding, and airborne dust microbiota from postpartum dairy cows and their environment. The cows were managed by the free-stall housing system, and samples for microbiota and serum metabolite ...
