The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Вдосконалення робочого процесу гідротурбін та систем їх регулювання [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The paper provides the detail analysis of the causes of various types of the vortex motion of the turbulent flow in the inlet parts of the turbine and in the inter-blade channels of the runner.

Prediction of sediment wear of francis turbine with high head and high sediment content

open access: yesFrontiers in Energy Research, 2023
Wear of runner blades is a common problem affecting the operational reliability of turbines with high head and high sediment content. In order to accurately predict the wear of the turbine runner blade, based on the solid-liquid two-phase flow equation ...

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Erythrocyte Phospholipid Fatty Acid Profile in High-Level Endurance Runners

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Fatty acids (FAs) are the major structural component of erythrocyte membranes. Diet and physical exercise directly influence their incorporation and function.

Unsteady numerical simulation of cryogenic LNG expander

open access: yesYou-qi chuyun, 2020
To study the pressure pulsation characteristics of the cryogenic expander, the numerical simulation was performed on the expander hydraulic model by the numerical simulation method.

Runners in action [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
AbstractRunners of algebraic effects, also known as comodels, provide a mathematical model of resource management. We show that they also give rise to a programming concept that models top-level external resources, as well as allows programmers to modularly define their own intermediate “virtual machines”.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.
