In vitro and in silico modelling of ROS1‐positive non‐small cell lung cancer reveals fusion‐dependent tyrosine kinase inhibitor responses

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Drug resistance limits treatment success in a subset of lung cancers driven by ROS1 gene alterations. Using patient‐derived cells and computer simulations, we studied three key mutations and how they affect five targeted drugs. The mutations reduced drug effectiveness in different ways by altering protein structure and behavior.

Effects of Minimalist vs. Traditional Running Shoes on Abdominal Lumbopelvic Muscle Activity in Women Running at Different Speeds: A Randomized Cross-Over Clinical Trial

open access: yesSensors
This study aimed to investigate if the characteristics of different running shoes could influence intra-abdominal pressure during running. A single-centre, randomized, prospective cross-over clinical trial was performed measuring activity patterns of ...

Pharmacological chromatin remodeling enhances response to estrogen therapy in ER+ breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Estrogen therapy elicits clinical benefit in ~ 30% of patients with endocrine‐resistant estrogen receptor (ER)‐positive breast cancer. Based on findings that ER transcriptional activation underlies response to estrogen therapy, we tested the effects of epigenetic dysregulation via pharmacological inhibition of histone deacetylases (HDACi).

Am I nearly there? The effect of anticipated running distance on perceived exertion and attentional focus

open access: yes, 2004
Two studies tested the hypothesis that teleoanticipatory mechanisms regulate the perception of exertion (RPE) in the context of expected exercise duration by the adjustment of attentional focus.

Relationship between personal psychological capitals, stress level, and performance in marathon runners

open access: yesHong Kong Physiotherapy Journal, 2015
Background: Marathon runners experience different levels of stress from their performance, which may vary across different people. Objectives: This study sought to examine if stress levels could be predicted by running performance and personal ...

Spatial biology in cancer epigenetics

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Spatial epigenomics combines molecular profiling with tissue architecture to reveal how gene regulation is organized within intact tissues. In cancer, these technologies uncover the mechanisms driving tumor heterogeneity and microenvironmental interactions, opening new opportunities for biomarker discovery and precision medicine.

Extracellular matrix remodeling and immune reprogramming drive residual tumor progression of liver cancer after incomplete microwave ablation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Incomplete microwave ablation (iMWA) of liver cancer triggers a biphasic progression in residual tumors. At Day 3, the microenvironment is characterized by acute inflammatory responses and extracellular matrix (ECM) remodeling. By Day 14, a profound shift occurs toward oncogenic signal transduction and immunosuppression, marked by macrophage ...

Fibular stress fracture in a female cross-country runner : a case report [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Stress fractures are probably the most feared class of injuries amongst endurance athletes, especially runners, since they require lengthy rehabilitation periods and temporary but drastic modifications of their training regime.

From Fitness Tracking to Augmented Shopping Experience: Perceptions and Use of Mobile Payment among Runners Using Wearable Devices

open access: yesTürk Spor ve Egzersiz Dergisi, 2021
Regularly exercising users of sports wearables (e.g., smartwatches) comprise an overlooked group in the literature on mobile payment despite their frequent use of such high-tech devices that allow making mobile payments.
