Revealing the Underlying Mechanisms in Performance Enhancement of Shellular Lattice Electrodes During Anion Exchange Membrane Water Electrolysis Process

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Micro laser powder bed fusion enables architected nickel shellular lattice gas diffusion layers for anion exchange membrane water electrolysis. Among regular open cell geometries, the Gyroid lattice promotes bubble release, convective reactant replenishment and continuous electron transport, delivering low overpotentials, enhanced charge transfer and ...

Analyzing the Impact of Climate Change and Human Activities on Surface Runoff in the Changbai Mountain Area, Northeast China

open access: yes, 2021
Climate change and human activities are two important factors affecting surface runoff. In water resource management and planning, it is generally important to separate the contribution of these factors when assessing runoff changes.

Microfluidic Gratings for X‐Ray Phase Contrast Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work establishes a new protocol for the fabrication of X‐ray gratings that exploits the advantages of microfluidics and enables a more inexpensive, faster, and scalable production process. These X‐ray devices are fundamental for implementing X‐ray phase contrast imaging (XPCI) in laboratory and clinical settings, yet their costly and complex ...

Hydrological responses to climate change: river runoff and groundwater [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
– For all greenhouse gas scenarios, a shift in runoff regime type is projected to occur in most catchments in Switzerland, with lower summer runoff and higher winter runoff, but little change in the total annual volume.- Limiting emissions to RCP3PD ...

The Runoff Declining Process and Water Quality in Songhuajiang River Catchment, China under Global Climatic Change

open access: yes, 2012
The runoff in Songhuajiang River catchment has experienced a decreasing trend during the second half of the 20th century. Serially complete daily rainfall data of 42 rainfall stations from 1959 to 2002 and daily runoff data of five meteorological ...

Prion‐Like Protein LENG8‐Mediated Nucleation Drives Stress Granule Assembly

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
LENG8 is a newly identified stress granule (SG) nucleator required for SG assembly. Following stress, nuclear LENG8 granules disassemble, allowing LENG8 to translocate into the cytoplasm and form independent nucleation foci. These foci fuse with canonical early G3BP1/TIA1 seeds via LENG8‐TIA1 binding to drive SG maturation.

Projected Declining Cryospheric Meltwater and Its Impact on River Runoff Under Climate Change on the Interior Tibetan Plateau

open access: yesWater Resources Research
The Source Region of the Yangtze River (SRYR), located on the hinterland of the Tibetan Plateau (TP), is significantly affected by cryospheric components such as snow, permafrost and glaciers. Nevertheless, there remains a lack of consensus regarding the

Prediction of future runoff change based on Budyko hypothesis in Yangtze River basin

open access: yesShui kexue jinzhan, 2015
The calculation formula of annual runoff change was derived based on Budyko hypothesis. The spatial distribution laws of annual mean potential evapotranspiration, precipitation, and aridity index as well as sensitivity coefficient over Yangtze River basin ...

In Situ Generation of Gel Foam via Heat‐Accelerated Calcium Ion Release From Nano‐CaCO3 for Lithium‐Ion Battery Fire Suppression and Prevention

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We present a heat‐accelerated in situ crosslinking strategy to create an alginate gel foam for lithium‐ion battery fire suppression. At ambient temperature, the formulation maintains low viscosity for easy foam generation. After exposure to fire, δ‐gluconolactone hydrolysis accelerates, enabling rapid Ca2+ release from CaCO3 and rapid ionic ...
