A new Ruppia from Mexico: Ruppia mexicana n.sp.
Aquatic Botany, 2016Abstract A study on the features of Ruppia from different sheltered bays and lagoons with marine or brackish water along the Mexican Yucatan peninsula indicates that these plants are morphologically distinct from the European Ruppia maritima . The Ruppia sp.

Antialgal ent-labdane diterpenes from Ruppia maritima
Phytochemistry, 2000Seven ent-labdane diterpenes have been isolated from Ruppia maritima. The structures 15,16-epoxy-ent-labda-8(17),13(16),14-trien-19-al; 15,16-epoxy-ent-labda-8(17),13(16),14-trien-19-ol acetate; methyl 15,16-epoxy-12-oxo-ent-labda-8(17),13(16),14-trien-19-oate; 15,16-epoxy-ent-labd-8(17),13E-dien-15-ol and 13-oxo-15,16-bis-nor-ent-labd-8(17)-ene have ...

Two New Polyhydroxylated Sterols from Ruppia maritima
Natural Product Letters, 2001Two new sterols have been isolated from the aquatic plant Ruppia maritima and their structures were established as (24R) ergosta-8,22-diene-3 beta,6 beta,7 alpha-triol (1) and (24R) ergosta-8(14),22-diene-3 beta,6 beta,7 alpha-triol (2) on the basis of spectroscopic analysis.

Effects of tributyltin (TBT) on the seagrass Ruppia maritima
Marine Pollution Bulletin, 2004The effects of tributyltin (TBT) on the seagrass Ruppia maritima were studied in two growth experiments. Plants were sampled at stations in Odense Fjord and Lunkebugten, Denmark, and replanted in reference sediment without TBT, reference sediment spiked with TBT, and in impacted sediment sampled in the highly TBT contaminated (7-57 microg kg (-1) dw ...

3.11. Ruppia (7, Cymodoceaceae, salt, alkaline, and brackish waters, in temperate to subtropical zones) Only one, so far not formally described species of Ruppia, Ruppia aff. tuberosa (den Hartog and Kuo, 2006), is considered to be a true seagrass in the ecological sense.

Taxonomy of the genus Ruppia in China
Aquatic Botany, 2014Abstract After a study of extensive herbarium material, collected in 20 localities in the coastal areas of China, it appears that the genus Ruppia is represented by three morphologically very distinct species, Ruppia brevipedunculata n. sp., Ruppia sinensis n. sp., and Ruppia megacarpa Mason.

A revision of the genus Ruppia (Potamogetonaceae) in Australia
Aquatic Botany, 1982We conclude that Ruppia is best placed in the family Potamogetonaceae. Four species are recognised in Australia, R. tuberosa Davis and Tomlinson, R. maritima L., R. megacarpa R. Mason and R. polycarpa R. Mason. A key is to provide to the species. A lectotype is chosen for R. maritima and a neotype for R. tuberosa.
