The genus Ruppia is represented in the Netherlands by two species, R. maritima L. and R. cirrhosu (Petagna) Grande. These species differ not only in morphological and cytogenetical characters, but they also show differences in flowering biology, life-cycle, ecology and geographical distribution.

Tetramyxa parasitica, een gal op Ruppia

Tetramyxa parasitica Goebel, a Plasmodiophoracean parasite, has been found on Ruppia spiralis L. ex Dum. in three places in the south-western part of the Netherlands, viz. in the Flaauwersinlaag and in the Weversinlaag on the island of Schouwen and in the „inlaag” near the Torenpolder on the island of Noord-Beveland.

An efficient protocol for rooting and acclimation of in vitro propagated Ruppia maritima was the focus of this research. The effects of four dilutions of a nutrient medium (f) and four different concentrations of sodium bicarbonate on rooting production were investigated.

В работе приводятся сведения о распространении и ценотических особенностях редких для Сибири видов рода Ruppia - Ruppia maritima L. и Ruppia cirrhosa (Petagna) Grande в Центральной Сибири (Хакасия). Ценозы руппии морской были отмечены в небольших мелководных озерах с минерализацией 28,8-53,3 г дм-3, сообщества руппии усиконосной обнаружены только в оз.
