RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

Thermocapillary effects in driven dewetting and self-assembly of pulsed laser-irradiated metallic films [PDF]
In this paper the lubrication-type dynamical model is developed of a molten, pulsed laser-irradiated metallic film. The heat transfer problem that incorporates the absorbed heat from a single beam or interfering beams is solved analytically.

The Influence of Fault Geometrical Complexity on Surface Rupture Length
Propagating earthquakes must overcome geometrical complexity on fault networks to grow into large, surface rupturing events. We map step‐overs, bends, gaps, splays, and strands of length scales ∼100–500 m from the surface ruptures of 31 strike‐slip ...

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Polymer chain scission at constant tension - an example of force-induced collective behaviour
The breakage of a polymer chain of segments, coupled by anharmonic bonds with applied constant external tensile force is studied by means of Molecular Dynamics simulation.

The 2025 Mw 7.7 Myanmar earthquake ruptured the central Sagaing fault, a previously identified seismic gap with high seismic potential. Here, we perform hundreds of 3D dynamic rupture simulations to investigate the rupture dynamics, constrained by near ...

Matrix metalloproteinase‐9 (MMP9) drives ovarian cancer progression. Using MMP9‐null cells (M9‐KO) created from ovarian cancer cells, we found MMP9 loss did not block Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF)‐driven E‐cadherin dissolution or EMT but delayed and reduced EGF‐driven membrane protrusions. Transient MMP9 re‐expression drove membrane protrusion.

We analyze high resolution slip rate data obtained during dynamic shear rupture experiments by Berman et al. (2020), https://doi.org/10.1103/physrevlett.125.125503. We use an inverse method to extract the details of strength evolution within the cohesive

We considered various non‐uniformities such as branch faults, rotation of stress field directions, and changes in tectonic environments to simulate the dynamic rupture process of the 6 February 2023 Mw 7.8 Kahramanmaraş earthquake in SE Türkiye.
