Genome‐Wide Association Study Reveals Insect Genetics and Microbial Symbiont Effects on Susceptibility of Diaphorina citri to the Citrus Greening Pathogen, Candidatus Liberibacter Asiaticus

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study investigates the genetic and microbial factors influencing the susceptibility of Diaphorina citri to the citrus greening pathogen Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus (CLas), employing a microbiome Genome Wide Association Study. The research identifies a key gene encoding an MFS‐type transporter contributing to CLas infectivity and abundance in

Single‐Cell Transcriptomic Atlases of Camels and Cattle Unravel Molecular Evolution of Digestive and Metabolic Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We generated multi‐tissue single‐cell transcriptomic atlases of camels and cattle, uncovering conserved and lineage‐specific cellular features across digestive and metabolic systems. Cross‐species comparisons revealed the evolutionary origin of the camel glandular sac and identified novel cell populations linked to physiological specialization ...

A Soft, Flexible Implant for Wireless Photothermal–Pyroelectric Neurostimulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A replication strategy is used to enlarge the exposed surface area of barium titanate within flexible films with embedded carbon nanotubes, enabling efficient photothermal‐pyroelectric stimulation. Polar crystalline nanosheets show superior performance in guiding neural progenitor cells toward neuronal differentiation.

Resistance Screening to Pepper mild mottle virus Pathotypes in Paprika Cultivars

open access: yesResearch in Plant Disease, 2014
The Paprika plant infected with Pepper mild mottle virus (PMMoV) do not produce commercial fruit as causing necrotic spots symptom on the fruit. Ten cultivars of paprika were analyzed to select the resistance cultivars against PMMoV pathotypes, P1.2 ...

Aspects of Rural Development in Greece: Indicators, Policies and New Opportunities [PDF]

open access: yes
Rural development has attracted the interest of European regional and agricultural policies in the last two decades. This is more evident after the late 1990’s when rural development became the second pillar of Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). In Greece,
