Tales of the unexpected: angiocarpous representatives of the Russulaceae in tropical South East Asia [PDF]
Six new sequestrate Lactarius species are described from tropical forests in South East Asia. Extensive macro- and microscopical descriptions and illustrations of the main anatomical features are provided. Similarities with other sequestrate Russulales and their phylogenetic relationships are discussed.

ABSTRACT A systems biology approach was used to characterize Monotropa uniflora, a nonhotosynthetic, myco‐heterotrophic plant. In contrast to autotrophic plants, myco‐heterotrophic plants obtain carbon and other nutrients by connecting roots to fungi, which establish the physical connection to a photosynthetic host, and thereby source required ...

Two new varieties of Russula Pers. (Basidiomycota: Russulaceae) from Sal forests of Shiwaliks, India
This paper deals with two new varieties of Russula species, R. camarophylla var. reticulospora var. nov. and R. aurea var. minuta var. nov. These were collected from the Shiwalik range of northwestern India, in association with Shorea robusta.

ABSTRACT High‐throughput sequencing of the Internal Transcribed Spacer (ITS) regions is the primary method for estimating fungal diversity from environmental DNA. However, reliance solely on ITS markers is complicated by its high variability in sequence length and the presence of multiple variants within a single genome, which can bias diversity ...
