Magnetically Recoverable Ruthenium Catalysts in Organic Synthesis

open access: yesMolecules, 2014
Magnetically recyclable catalysts with magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) are becoming a major trend towards sustainable catalysts. In this area, recyclable supported ruthenium complexes and ruthenium nanoparticles occupy a key place and present great ...

Engineering CO2 Reduction Pathways via Alloy‐Support Interactions in Li‐CO2 Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Alloy‐support interactions in RuCu/NC induce interfacial charge redistribution and shift d‐band centers, steering CO2 reduction from Li2CO3 to metastable Li2C2O4. This pathway engineering lowers the rate‐determining barrier and suppresses carbonate formation, enabling high discharge voltage (3.23 V) in Li‐CO2 batteries with reduced overpotential (0.50 ...

Bimetallic η6,η1-and PCP-pincer ruthenium palladium complexes: synthesis, structure, and catalytic activity

open access: yes, 2010
The synthesis of η6,η1 SCS- and PCP-pincer ruthenium palladium complexes [3] þ-[6] þ by direct η6-coordination of [Ru(C5R5)] þ (R = H or Me) to the arene ring of η1-palladated ECE-pincer ligands (E = S or P) is described.

Designing Ruthenium Anticancer Drugs: What Have We Learnt from the Key Drug Candidates?

open access: yesInorganics, 2019
After nearly 20 years of research on the use of ruthenium in the fight against cancer, only two Ru(III) coordination complexes have advanced to clinical trials.

Atomic Layer Deposition of Metallic Molybdenum Dioxide Thin Films Enabling High‐k Rutile Capacitors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
The first direct atomic layer deposition (ALD) process of molybdenum dioxide (MoO2) thin films is reported using molybdenum(II) acetate dimer (Mo2(OAc)4) and oxygen (O2) as precursors at 235°C–275°C. The films are crystalline, exceptionally pure, and conductive.

Diastereoselective synthesis of [alpha]-tocopherol [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Vitamin E exists in eight different forms, four tocopherols and four tocotrienols. All possess a hydrophobic side chain, which allows them to penetrate into biological membranes.

Stabilizing Electrochemical Interfaces With Multifunctional Cobalt Nitride Layers

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Cobalt nitrides emerged recently as an interesting class of earth‐abundant oxygen evolution catalysts. Herein, plasma‐enhanced atomic layer deposition is used to synthesize multifunctional cobalt nitride layers that simultaneously protect and catalytically activate photoelectrode surfaces.

Hydrolytic behaviour of mono-and dithiolato-bridged dinuclear arene ruthenium complexes and their interactions with biological ligands [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The hydrolysis and the reactivity of two dinuclear p-cymene ruthenium monothiolato complexes, [(η6-p-MeC6H4Pri)2Ru2Cl2(µ-Cl)(µ-S-m-9-B10C2H11)] (1) and [(η6-p-MeC6H4Pri)2¬Ru2Cl2(µ-Cl)¬(µ-S¬CH2-p-C6H4-NO2)] (2), and of two dinuclear p-cymene ruthenium ...

Sensitive and Spatially‐Resolved Electrochemiluminescence via Micropatterning

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
The use of a simple silica nanoparticle surface coating and patterning process can transform ordinary gold electrodes into multiplexed ECL sensing electrodes. Through spatially confined droplet formation and local ECL emission, it is possible to perform multiple analyses simultaneously from individual locations as well as intensify the ECL signal by as

Backbone tuning in indenylidene-ruthenium complexes bearing an unsaturated N-heterocyclic carbene

open access: yes, 2010
The steric and electronic influence of backbone substitution in IMes-based (IMes = 1,3-bis(2,4,6-trimethylphenyl)imidazol-2-ylidene) N-heterocyclic carbenes (NHC) was probed by synthesizing the [RhCl(CO)(2)(NHC)] series of complexes to quantify ...
