AbstractSymmetrical, mononuclear bis(acetylido)ruthenium(II) complexes were prepared by the reaction of [trans‐RuMe2(dmpe)2] [dmpe = 1,2‐bis(dimethylphosphanyl)ethane] with terminal alkynes. Cyanoolefin complexes of osmium(II) and ruthenium(II)

Abstract The reaction of the cyanoolefins tetracyanoethylene, fumaronitrile and acrylonitrile with the 5-coordinated compounds RuCl 2 (CO)(PCy 3 ) 2 or OsHCl(CO)(PCy 3 ) 2 is described. Complexes are prepared with osmium or ruthenium cyanoolefin ratios of 1:1 and 2:1. The possible structures of these compounds are discussed.
