Identification of (20R)‐protopanaxadiol from Panax ginseng as a novel anti‐SARS‐CoV‐2 compound

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We established a noninfectious BAC‐based SARS‐CoV‐2 replicon that enables antiviral screening under BSL‐2 conditions. Using this platform, we screened 373 food‐derived compounds and identified (20R)‐protopanaxadiol from Panax ginseng as a novel inhibitor of SARS‐CoV‐2 RNA replication, highlighting the value of safe replicon systems for antiviral ...

Effects of Different Loadings of Ru and Re on Physico-Chemical Properties and Performance of 15% Co/Al2O3 FTS Catalysts [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering, 2005
An extensive study of Fischer-Tropsch synthesis (FTS) on alumina-supported cobalt catalysts promoted with different amounts of ruthenium and rhenium is reported. Up to 2 wt% of promoters, are added to the catalyst by coimpregnation.

Spectroelectrochemical analysis of the mechanism of (photo)electrochemical hydrogen evolution at a catalytic interface

open access: yesNature Communications, 2017
Understanding reaction mechanisms in heterogeneous (photo)electrochemical catalysts is key to improving solar-to-fuel conversion efficiencies. Here the authors compare the mechanism of hydrogen evolution on ruthenium oxide as an electrocatalyst and as ...

Polarizable Vanadium Dipoles Promote Water Dissociation on Vanadium‐Based Metal Organic Framework

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The polarization of unpaired V 3d electrons weakens the H─O bond to improve water dissociation by the dual Vδ+:O─H and Pλ−:H─O coupling hydrogen bonds formation and relaxation. P@V‐MOF electrocatalyst shows low overpotentials (94 mV in acid, 178 mV in neutral, and 77 mV in alkaline solutions) with excellent stability for effective overall water ...

Sonochemical boron incorporation enhances activity and durability of ruthenium oxide for acidic water oxidation

open access: yesNature Communications
The inherent instability of ruthenium oxide in acidic environments, coupled with the persistent activity-stability trade-off, constitutes a fundamental barrier to advancement of proton exchange membrane water electrolyzers.

Preparation and Properties of a New Thick Film System

open access: yesActive and Passive Electronic Components, 1986
Work has been carried out to develop a new ruthenium oxide based thick film resistor whose resistance is independent of the contact area of the conductor to the resistor. Such a resistor can then be combined with a low cost silver conductor.

(R)-3-(tert-Butoxycarbonyl)-5-methyl-1,2,3-oxathiazolidine 2,2-dioxide

open access: yesIUCrData, 2017
The chiral title compound, C8H15NO5S, was obtained by cyclization of (R)-1-(tert-butoxycarbonylamino)-2-propanol with thionyl chloride and subsequent oxidation with sodium metaperiodate/ruthenium(IV) oxide.

Three‐Dimensional Anomalous Hall Sensing Enabled By Spin–Orbit Torque Driven Domain Reconfiguration In Chiral Multilayers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A three‐dimensional magnetic field sensor is realized in chiral W/CoFeB/MgO multilayers, where spin–orbit torques reversibly reconfigure homochiral stripe domains. The symmetry of the torque enables offset‐free in‐plane sensing, while the reproducible domain reconfiguration extends the linear out‐of‐plane range. An anomalous Hall readout delivers large‐
