Relationship Between NIR Spectra and RVA Parameters During Wheat Germination

Cereal Chemistry, 2005
ABSTRACTThe process of germination in six different wheat cultivars was monitored using NIR spectroscopy and the Rapid Visco Analyser (RVA) method. Near‐infrared spectra provided insight into both chemical and physical changes that occur in the seed, in particular mobilization processes involving carbohydrates.

Changes in rapid visco‐analysis (RVA) viscosity reveal starch digestion behaviours

Starch - Stärke, 2012
AbstractChanges in the rapid visco‐analysis (RVA) viscosity of potato and waxy maize starches during digestion were studied using amyloglucosidase and α‐amylase (60–1700 U/mL), and three solids contents (3–20%) of the starch dispersions in a replicated randomised experiment.

Correlation Between NIR Spectra and RVA Parameters During Germination of Maize

Cereal Chemistry, 2007
ABSTRACTThe physical, chemical, and morphological changes of maize seeds during germination were investigated using near‐infrared spectroscopy (NIR) and a method based on the Rapid Visco Analyser (RVA). Near‐infrared spectra provide information about both chemical and physical changes that occur in maize seed.

Average Shear Rates in the Rapid Visco Analyser (RVA) Mixing System

Cereal Chemistry, 2000
ABSTRACTThe principle of mixer viscometry was utilized to determine the average shear rate in the mixing system (impeller‐cup combination) of the Rapid Visco Analyser (RVA). A relationship between the impeller Reynolds number and the power number was established with Newtonian standards.

Milling—A Further Parameter Affecting the Rapid Visco Analyser (RVA) Profile

Cereal Chemistry, 2001
ABSTRACTRapid Visco Analyser (RVA) profiles were recorded for raw maize grits and two extruded nonexpanded pellets based on wheat and maize. Large differences were found between the profiles obtained when an impeller mill was used to prepare the samples compared with a disk mill. The differences were related to differences in particle properties of the

Application of Rapid Visco Analyser (RVA) viscograms and chemometrics for maize hardness characterisation

Food Chemistry, 2015
It has been established in this study that the Rapid Visco Analyser (RVA) can describe maize hardness, irrespective of the RVA profile, when used in association with appropriate multivariate data analysis techniques. Therefore, the RVA can complement or replace current and/or conventional methods as a hardness descriptor.

Pathogenicity comparison between porcine G9P[23] and G5P[23] RVA in piglets

Veterinary Microbiology
Rotavirus Group A (RVA) is a primary pathogen that causes viral diarrhea in humans and animals. Porcine rotaviruses (PoRVs) are widely epidemic in pig farms in China, causing great economic losses to the swine industry. In the past 30 years, the G5 RVA had been the main epidemic genotype in pig farms worldwide.
