Isolation and Identification of Erysipelothrix sp. in Hybrid Grouper (Epinephelus fuscoguttatus × E. lanceolatus) in Taiwan

ABSTRACT In February 2025, a mortality event of unknown aetiology occurred at a hybrid grouper (Epinephelus fuscoguttatus × Epinephelus lanceolatus) aquaculture farm in southern Taiwan, with sporadic daily deaths persisting for a month. Four moribund groupers were collected over three sampling intervals for diagnostic investigation.

Retrospective Identification of Lactococcus petauri Among Archived Isolates From Farmed Fish in Japan: Pathogenicity and Molecular Epidemiology

ABSTRACT Lactococcosis, caused by Lactococcus garvieae, L. formosensis, and L. petauri, is an important bacterial disease of farmed fish worldwide. In Japan, L. petauri has not previously been reported as a cause of lactococcosis, although lactococcosis cases not attributable to either L. garvieae or L. formosensis have been recorded.

Infectious Pancreatic Necrosis in Atlantic Cod (Gadus morhua): Complete Viral Genome Characterization From the First Norwegian Field Case Suggests Cross‐Species Transmission

ABSTRACT We describe the first natural outbreak of infectious pancreatic necrosis (IPN) in farmed Atlantic cod (Gadus morhua) in Norway. IPN was originally described in young salmonids, but the greatest losses have historically occurred in Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) following sea transfer despite high vaccination coverage.
