Gonadal function in males with WFS1 spectrum disorder (Wolfram syndrome)—A European cohort perspective

open access: yesAndrology, Volume 14, Issue 2, Page 398-410, February 2026.
Abstract Background WFS1 spectrum disorder, also known as Wolfram syndrome (WS) is an ultra‐rare (<1:500,000; ORPHA: 3463) monogenic (OMIM #222300) progressive neuroendocrine and neurodegenerative disorder, characterised by early‐onset insulin‐dependent diabetes, optic atrophy, central diabetes insipidus and sensi‐neuronal deafness.

Comparative efficacy of varicocelectomy and intrauterine insemination in varicocoele patients with mild semen abnormalities: An observational study

open access: yesAndrology, Volume 14, Issue 2, Page 487-495, February 2026.
Abstract Background Varicocoele is a common cause of male infertility, affecting spermatogenesis through increased testicular temperature, venous stasis, and oxidative stress. Microsurgical subinguinal varicocelectomy improves semen quality, whereas intrauterine insemination is widely used for mild male factor infertility.

Detection of germ cell neoplasia in situ and testicular cancer risk in men with testicular microlithiasis: Real world results through 10 years

open access: yesAndrology, Volume 14, Issue 2, Page 459-465, February 2026.
Abstract Background Guidelines recommend biopsies for men <50 years with testicular microlithiasis and cancer risk factors to rule out germ cell neoplasia in situ. Limited data support this practice. Objectives To clarify the significance of testicular microlithiasis by examining pathological findings in men with testicular microlithiasis.

Impact of varicocoelectomy on male semen parameters: A long‐term analysis of sperm quality and outcomes

open access: yesAndrology, Volume 14, Issue 2, Page 352-357, February 2026.
Abstract Background Varicocoeles are common in 40% of men presenting with infertility. Semen parameters including sperm motility, low sperm count and sperm morphology are altered by the presence of varicocoeles. Though varicocoelectomy has been associated with improvements in these parameters, studies on long‐term outcomes are limited.

Adjuvant‐induced arthritis induces epithelial proliferation and differential expression of SVS2 and SVS3 in the seminal vesicles

open access: yesAndrology, Volume 14, Issue 2, Page 516-527, February 2026.
Abstract Background Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an inflammatory disease triggered by chronic and systemic activation of the immune system, with consequences for male fertility. However, the influence of RA on sexual accessory glands remains poorly investigated.

Proteomic profiling of porcine seminal extracellular vesicles reveals potential in vivo fertility biomarkers

open access: yesAndrology, Volume 14, Issue 2, Page 555-570, February 2026.
Abstract Background Predicting male fertility in farm animals remains a challenge. Seminal plasma (SP) contains a high amount of heterogeneous seminal extracellular vesicles (sEVs), believed involved in reproductive processes and maybe key to understanding male fertility.

Advanced Paternal Age Impacts Common Loci in the Sperm and Placenta DNA Methylomes

open access: yesAndrology, Volume 14, Issue 2, Page 528-544, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Epidemiological studies have reported an association between advanced paternal age at conception and an increased risk of neurodevelopmental disorders in offspring, such as autism spectrum disorder. Evidence suggests that DNA methylation alterations in spermatozoa of older men may be transmitted to the feto‐placental unit and ...

Experiences with school‐based sexuality education among adopted adolescents with sexual minority parents

open access: yesFamily Relations, Volume 75, Issue 1, Page 342-364, February 2026.
Abstract Objective This study qualitatively examined the experiences and perspectives of adopted teenagers with sexual minority parents with respect to school‐based sexuality health education. Background Previous research has established that traditional school‐based sexuality and reproductive health education curricula are largely heteronormative and ...

Lichtinduzierte Orthogonale Reaktivität von Photoinitiatoren – Vom Reduktionsmittel zu Nanokompositen

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 4, 22 January 2026.

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 4, 22 January 2026.
