A New 1D Chaotic Map and $\beta$ -Hill Climbing for Generating Substitution-Boxes

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
One-dimensional (1-D) chaotic maps have been considered as prominent pseudo-random source for the design of different cryptographic primitives. They have the advantages of simplicity, easy to implement, and low computation.

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

A New Type of Cipher: DICING_csb [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
In this paper, we will propose a new type of cipher named DICING_csb, which is derived from our previous stream cipher DICING. It has applied a stream of subkey and an encryption form of block ciphers, so it may be viewed as a combinative of stream ...

LINC01116, a hypoxia‐lncRNA marker of pathological lymphangiogenesis and poor prognosis in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The LINC01116 long noncoding RNA is induced by hypoxia and associated with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates in two cohorts of lung adenocarcinoma patients. Here, we demonstrate that besides its expression in cancer cells, LINC01116 is markedly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells of the tumor stroma in which it participates in hypoxia ...

Generation of Affine-Shifted S-Boxes with Constant Confusion Coefficient Variance and Application in the Partitioning of the S-Box Space

open access: yesCryptography
Among the multiple important properties that characterize strong S-boxes for symmetric cryptography and are used in their designs, this study focuses on two: the non-linearity property, a classical security metric, and the confusion coefficient variance ...

ATF4‐mediated stress response as a therapeutic vulnerability in chordoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We screened 5 chordoma cell lines against 100+ inhibitors of epigenetic and metabolic pathways and kinases and identified halofuginone, a tRNA synthetase inhibitor. Mechanistically halofuginone induces an integrated stress response, with eIF2alpha phosphorylation, activation of ATF4 and its target genes CHOP, ASNS, INHBE leading to cell death ...

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.
