[Toxicity effects of Rac- and S-metolachlor on two algaes].

Huan jing ke xue= Huanjing kexue, 2013
The enantioselective toxicity of the chiral herbicides Rac- and S-metolachlor to Scenedesmus obliquus and Chlorella vulgaris was determined, and the effect of humic acid was studied by using acute toxicity testing method. The results indicated that the toxicity of Rac- and S-metolachlor increased with increasing concentration and exposure time.

Toxicity mechanism of organosilicon adjuvant in combination with S-metolachlor on Vigna angularis

Journal of Hazardous Materials
The widespread use of S-metolachlor (ME) in agriculture to suppress weeds and boost crop yields, particularly in cultivating Vigna angularis, is well established. However, the application of organosilicon adjuvants with herbicides has potential threats to non-target crops. This study investigates the toxicity symptoms and mechanisms when V.

Bacterial communities in batch and continuous-flow wetlands treating the herbicide S-metolachlor

Science of The Total Environment, 2014
Knowledge of wetland bacterial communities in the context of pesticide contamination and hydrological regime is scarce. We investigated the bacterial composition in constructed wetlands receiving Mercantor Gold(®) contaminated water (960 g L(-1) of the herbicide S-metolachlor, >80% of the S-enantiomer) operated under continuous-flow or batch modes to ...

Mitigation of atrazine, S-metolachlor, and diazinon using common emergent aquatic vegetation

Journal of Environmental Sciences, 2017
By the year 2050, the population of the United States is expected to reach over 418 million, while the global population will reach 9.6 billion. To provide safe food and fiber, agriculture must balance pesticide usage against impacts on natural resources.
