Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Modelling of SiC and GaN transistors based on pulsed S-parameter measurements
For the design of fast-switching inverters a precise model of power semiconductors is required. Based on pulsed S-parameter measurements in the frequency range of 2 MHz to 500 MHz a SiC MOSFET and a GaN HEMT have been characterized. As basis for precise modelling, measurements under varying load conditions have been taken for many operating points ...

Many patients with urothelial cancer do not benefit from treatment with pembrolizumab, while at risk of severe side effects. Changes in the levels of circulating tumor DNA early during treatment, measured by a simple and affordable assay that can be easily implemented in the clinic, can be used as a prognostic tool to identify these patients.

MITF maintains genome stability in nonmelanocyte lineages
MITF is essential for melanocyte survival and acts as an oncogene in 10%–20% of melanomas. We show that MITF depletion causes genome instability in nonmelanocytic cells, leading to LATS2‐mediated P53 activation, cell cycle arrest, and apoptosis. This study highlights the role of MITF as a genome maintenance factor beyond the melanocyte lineage. Created

Hydraulic permeability prediction from attenuation in an oil well using the squirt flow model
A practical methodology is presented for estimating the hydraulic permeability from the wave attenuation at sonic frequencies using the poroelastic squirt flow model associated with the mechanism that encompasses the interaction between solid and fluid ...

The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Towards robust data-driven automated recovery of symbolic conservation laws from limited data
Conservation laws are an inherent feature in many systems modeling real world phenomena, in particular, those modeling biological and chemical systems. If the form of the underlying dynamical system is known, linear algebra and algebraic geometry methods

Disentangling the determinants of and mapping the root-to-shoot ratio of Chinese forest ecosystems
The root-to-shoot ratio (R/S) is a key parameter for estimating forest carbon stocks and modeling carbon cycles at global and regional scales. We compiled a large dataset (n = 7,980) from Chinese forest ecosystems and employed the Random Forest algorithm,
