A Real-Time S-Parameter Imaging System

open access: yesActa Physica Polonica A, 2005
Obtaining a lateral S-parameter image scan from positrons implanted into semiconductor devices can be a helpful research tool both for localizing device structures and in diagnozing defect patterns that could help interpret function. S-parameter images can be obtained by electromagnetically rastering a variable energy positron beam of small spot size ...

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

A Novel Capacitive Touch Sensing Approach and Its Application in Gender Classification

open access: yesIEEE Access
Touch sensing is widely used in electronic devices like touch screens in smartphones or touch buttons in other consumer electronics. This work aims to infer the user’s gender when they touch a pair of simple touch buttons.

The oblique S parameter in Higgsless electroweak models [PDF]

open access: yesAIP Conference Proceedings, 2012
We present a one-loop calculation of the oblique S parameter within Higgsless models of electroweak symmetry breaking. We have used a general effective Lagrangian with at most two derivatives, implementing the chiral symmetry breaking SU(2)_L x SU(2)_R -> SU(2)_{L+R} with Goldstones, gauge bosons and one multiplet of vector and axial-vector ...

A model study of present-day Hall-effect circulators

open access: yes, 2016
Stimulated by the recent implementation of a three-port Hall-effect microwave circulator of Mahoney et al. (MEA), we present model studies of the performance of this device.

Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of single circulating tumor cells in the follow‐up of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

Novel Approach to Design Ultra Wideband Microwave Amplifiers: Normalized Gain Function Method [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In this work, we propose a novel approach called as “Normalized Gain Function (NGF) method” to design low/medium power single stage ultra wide band microwave amplifiers based on linear S parameters of the active device.

Higgs Bosons in Extra Dimensions

open access: yes, 2013
In this paper, motivated by the recent discovery of a Higgs-like boson at the LHC with a mass m_H\simeq 126 GeV, we review different models where the hierarchy problem is solved by means of a warped extra dimension.
