Aircraft digital control design methods [PDF]
Variations in design methods for aircraft digital flight control are evaluated and compared. The methods fall into two categories; those where the design is done in the continuous domain (or s plane) and those where the design is done in the discrete ...

Dispersive hybrid states and bandgap in zigzag Graphene/BN heterostructures
We study the properties of edge states in in-plane heterostructures made of adjacent zigzag graphene and BN ribbons. While in pure zigzag graphene nanoribbons, gapless edge states are nearly flat and cannot contribute significantly to the conduction, at ...

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Modern developments in shear flow control with swirl [PDF]
Passive and active control of swirling turbulent jets is experimentally investigated. Initial swirl distribution is shown to dominate the free jet evolution in the passive mode.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Control and Responsibility in European Union Migration Law and Policy – A study of Externalisation and Privatisation [PDF]
Introduction: Member States of the European Union (“Member State(s)” or “the State(s)”), are long associated with seeking to preserve their authority over migration control and border management.

This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Flow control in S-Shaped Air Intake using Zero-Net-Mass-Flow [PDF]
Flow control using zero-net-mass-flow jets in a twodimensional model of an S-Shaped air intake diffuser was investigated. Experiments were conducted in a channel flow facility at a Reynolds number of Re = 8×104 with particular image velocimetry ...

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).
