Effect of abrasive particle size on abrasive wear of hardfacing alloys
Hardfacing is one of the most useful and economical ways to improve the performance of components submitted to severe wear conditions. This study has been made for the comparison of microstructure and abrasion resistance of hardfacing alloys reinforced ...

Multiphysics Model of an MR Damper including Magnetic Hysteresis
Hysteresis is one of key factors influencing the output of magnetorheological (MR) actuators. The actuators reveal two primary sources of hysteresis. The hydro(mechanical) hysteresis can be related to flow dynamics mechanisms and is frequency‐ or rate‐dependent.

The galvanic corrosion of a bolt joint combining carbon steel end plate and low alloy steel bolt was investigated electrochemically in a 1 M HCl solution. The corrosion parameters of the joint components were used for numerical simulation using Comsol Multiphysics software to analyze the galvanic corrosion behavior at the contact zone between the head ...

In this study, silazanes are used as matrix material for the fabrication of lamellar corrosion protection base coats. The silazane matrix leads to a temperature stability up to 400°C of the zinc, magnesium, and aluminum‐filled coatings. At higher temperatures the coatings suffer from oxidation of the fillers resulting in reduced corrosion protection ...

Toward Continuous Electrochemical Synthesis of Ferrate
Ferrate synthesis using sacrificial iron anodes is studied at technical current densities. Anode passivation is overcome using spheroidal graphite cast iron as anode. A novel electrolysis cell allows the installation of rod‐shaped anodes with a combined surface area of 230 cm2.
