, 2011 Çalışma, Saanen ve Saanen x Kıl melezi erkek oğlakların besi performanslarının ortaya konulması amacıyla yürütülmüştür. Araştırma verileri 7 baş Saanen, 10 baş Saanen x Kıl(F1), 10 baş Saanen x Kıl(G1) ve 5 baş Saanen x Kıl(G2) olmak üzere toplam 32 baş oğlaktan elde edilmiştir.

Journal of the South African Veterinary Association, 1995 Rotavirus particles were detected in the stools of 8 out of 12 Saanen kids with either diarrhoea or an increased rectal temperature. No other pathogenic organisms could be recovered from these kids. This is believed to be the first report of rotavirus infection in goats in southern Africa.
