The spatial pattern of peri-saccadic compression for small saccades

open access: yesJournal of Vision, 2010
In the temporal vicinity of a saccade onset, visual stability is transiently disrupted and briefly flashed visual stimuli undergo a systematic perceptual mislocalization. Specifically, when a stimulus is flashed around saccade onset, localization judgments are grossly biased toward the saccade endpoint.

A Short Cognitive and Neuropsychiatric Assessment Scale for Progressive Supranuclear Palsy

open access: yesMovement Disorders Clinical Practice, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Patients with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) suffer from several neuropsychological impairments. These mainly affect the frontal lobe and subcortical brain structures. However, a scale for the assessment of cognitive and neuropsychiatric disability in PSP is still missing.

Searching and fixating: scale-invariance vs. characteristic timescales in attentional processes

open access: yes, 2011
In an experiment involving semantic search, the visual movements of sample populations subjected to visual and aural input were tracked in a taskless paradigm. The probability distributions of saccades and fixations were obtained and analyzed.

Fly eyes are not still: a motion illusion in Drosophila flight supports parallel visual processing. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Most animals shift gaze by a 'fixate and saccade' strategy, where the fixation phase stabilizes background motion. A logical prerequisite for robust detection and tracking of moving foreground objects, therefore, is to suppress the perception of ...

Eye tracking disturbances in Schizophrenia

open access: yesIndian Journal of Ophthalmology, 2000
Purpose: To study the frequency of different types of eye tracking disturbances in schizophrenia. Materials and Methods: Smooth pursuit eye movements were studied by electro-oculography (EOG) in 22 schizophrenic patients (ICD-10 criteria) and 15 age and ...

Magnetic Resonance–Guided Focused Ultrasound Treatment for Essential Tremor: A Single‐Center Experience

open access: yesMovement Disorders Clinical Practice, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Essential tremor is the most common hyperkinetic movement disorder. Magnetic resonance imaging–guided focused ultrasound (MRgFUS) has emerged as second‐line therapy. Objective The aim was to obtain the results of the first 108 patients treated with MRgFUS in Denmark.

Benign Idiopathic Myoclonus: A New Clinical Entity?

open access: yesMovement Disorders Clinical Practice, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Myoclonus is a brief shock‐like, involuntary movement, which can be distinguished in physiologic, essential, epileptic, and symptomatic, according to its etiology. Physiologic myoclonus typically occurs in healthy people without disability or progression.
