Metahyphopichia suwanaadthiae sp. nov., an anamorphic yeast species in the order Saccharomycetales and reassignment of Candida silvanorum to the genus Metahyphopichia

International Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology, 2022
Seven yeast strains, representing a single novel anamorphic species, were isolated in Thailand. They consisted of five strains (DMKU-MRY16T, DMKU-SK18, DMKU-SK25, DMKU-SK30 and DMKU-SK32) obtained from five different mushrooms, and two strains (ST-224 and 11-14.2) derived from insect frass and soil, respectively.

Evolution of +1 Programmed Frameshifting Signals and Frameshift-Regulating tRNAs in the Order Saccharomycetales

Journal of Molecular Evolution, 2006
Programmed translational frameshifting is a ubiquitous but rare mechanism of gene expression in which mRNA sequences cause the translational machinery to shift reading frames with extreme efficiency, up to at least 50%. The mRNA sequences responsible are deceptively simple; the sequence CUU-AGG-C causes about 40% frameshifting when inserted into an ...

Clavispora, a new yeast genus of the Saccharomycetales

Antonie van Leeuwenhoek, 1979
In Candida lusitaniae van Uden et do Carmo-Sousa (1959), strains of opposite sex have been found. Cells of the opposite mating types conjugate and form asci with one to four clavate spores. These are easily liberated from the ascus. The type strain of Candida obtusa (Dietrichson) van Uden et do Carmo-Sousa ex van Uden et Buckley (1970) also produces ...

PAAN135, a novel rhizospheric fungus associated with Cholistan desert grass Panicum antidotale, is a species of Saccharomycetales and a new source of cyclo-L-prolylglycine diketopiperazine

Symbiosis, 2017
A number of fungi have been reported for their ability to make symbiotic relationship with plant roots. This mutual interaction helps fungi produce important metabolites in the rhizospheric region supporting plants for better growth and survival. These biologically important fungal metabolites, especially of antibiotic potential, can be isolated and ...

Disseminated yeast (Order Saccharomycetales) infection in a Muscovy duckling (Cairina moschata).

The Canadian veterinary journal = La revue veterinaire canadienne, 2017
A Muscovy duckling was presented for necropsy due to ongoing mortalities on a farm. Microscopic examination revealed multisystemic inflammatory lesions with intralesional and intracytoplasmic yeast-like organisms. We identified these agents as yeast belonging to the Order Saccharomycetales based on sequence data obtained from the ribosomal RNA operon.
