Increasing production of spinosad inSaccharopolyspora spinosaby metabolic engineering

Biotechnology and Applied Biochemistry, 2022
AbstractSpinosad, a combination of spinosyn A and D produced bySaccharopolyspora spinosa, is a highly efficient pesticide. There has been a considerable interest in the improvement of spinosad production because of a low yield achieved by wild‐typeS. spinosa. In this study, we designed and constructed a pIBR‐SPN vector.

Enhanced Production of Spinosad in Saccharopolyspora spinosa by Genome Shuffling

Applied Biochemistry and Biotechnology, 2009
Spinosad (spinosyns A and D) is a mixture of secondary metabolites produced by Saccharopolyspora spinosa. It is used in agriculture as a potent insect control agent with exceptional safety to non-target organisms. In this study, we applied genome shuffling of S. spinosa to achieve a rapid improvement of spinosad production.

Cultivation attempts of Saccharopolyspora spinosa on liquid medium

Advanced Biotechnologies - Achievements and Prospects, VIth Edition, 2022
In the last fifty years, pesticides of chemical origin were very actively used, which undoubte-dly led to an increase in agricultural production, both quantitatively and qualitatively, and influen-ced the spread in certain areas and of different crops, which were more difficult before.

Improvement of spinosad producing Saccharopolyspora spinosa by rational screening

Journal of Zhejiang University: Science A, 2006
Spinosad (spinosyns A and D) is a mixture of secondary metabolites produced by Saccharopolyspora spinosa. It is used in agriculture as a potent insect control agent with exceptional safety to non-target organisms. Spinosyns are macrolides with a 21-carbon, tetracyclic lactone backbone to which the deoxysugars forosamine and tri-O-methylrhamnose are ...

Improvement of Saccharopolyspora spinosa and the Kinetic Analysis for Spinosad Production

Applied Biochemistry and Biotechnology, 2008
In this paper, a new spinosad-producing mutant UV-42-13 was obtained by employing rhamnose and sodium propionate resistant selection strategies in series with UV irradiation. Spinosad production of the mutant was 125.3 mg/L, improved 285.5% compared with that of the wild strain (32.5 mg/L).The results of experiment on tolerance of propyl alcohol ...
