Orphan crops of archaeology‐based crop history research
Agrobiodiversity is central to sustainable farming worldwide. Cultivation, conservation and reintroduction of diverse plant species, including ‘forgotten’ and ‘underutilized’ crops, contribute to global agrobiodiversity, living ecosystems and sustainable food production.

Genome-Wide association study for resistance to aerial propagation of leaf scald in sugarcane(Saccharum spp) [PDF]
Leaf scald (LS) is a major sugarcane disease, resulting in cane loss and sugar yield decrease when growing susceptible cultivars. This disease is caused by a xylem invading bacterium, Xanthomonas albilineans (Xa), and is mainly transmitted by aerial ...

Forgetting cane grasses: Switching temporal focus to reveal mosaics of Saccharum diversity
Sugarcane (Saccharum cvs.) is one of the most important cash crops globally. Related varieties and species of cane grasses of the genus Saccharum are also important subsistence crops in the Indo‐Pacific region. Despite the significance of these crops globally and recent advances in genetic characterisation, the histories and geographies of ...

All-plasmonic switching effect in the graphene nanostructures containing quantum emitters [PDF]
Nonlinear plasmonic effects in perspective 2D materials containing low-dimensional quantum emitters can be a basis of a novel technological platform for the fabrication of fast all-plasmonic triggers, transistors, and sensors. This article considers the conditions for achieving a strong plasmon-exciton coupling in the system with quantum nanowire (NW ...

Characterization of chloroplast DNA microsatellites from Saccharum spp and related species [PDF]
Microsatellites, or simple sequence repeats (SSRs), and their flanking regions in chloroplast genomes (plastomes) of some species of the family Poaceae were analyzed in silico to look for DNA sequence variations. Comparison of the complete chloroplast DNA sequences (cpDNAs) of sugarcane (Saccharum hybrid cv. SP-80-3280 and S.
